Leica AMPLUS 6 1-6x24i Product description

  • True 1-6x versatility: The 1x low end supports fast target acquisition with both eyes open, while 6x gives enough reach for more deliberate shots across open ground.
  • Wide 38.00 m/100m field of view: A broad sight picture helps track moving game and maintain awareness in driven hunts, woodland edges, and other fast-changing hunting situations.
  • Daytime-usable illuminated reticle: The red illuminated aiming point stays visible in bright daylight, making the reticle quicker to pick up against dark cover or complex backgrounds.
  • Large exit pupil and > 90% light transmission: The forgiving eyebox and efficient light delivery make the scope easier to use in awkward shooting positions and more comfortable in poor light.
  • Compact 30 mm aluminum design: At 272.00 mm and 480.00 g, this riflescope keeps a hunting rifle well balanced while remaining robust enough for regular field use.

About the Leica AMPLUS 6 Series

Leica introduced the Amplus 6 series in 2020 as an accessible entry into its premium riflescope range, aimed at hunters who need one optic to cover everyday field use. The series is built around a 6× zoom ratio and second focal plane illuminated reticles, giving shooters a familiar reticle appearance throughout the magnification range and practical flexibility across different hunting styles.

The Leica AMPLUS 6 line is intended for all-around hunting use, from close woodland work to more open terrain, and it is offered in several configurations including 1–6×24, 3–18×44, 2.5–15×50, and 2.5–15×56. Reticle options such as L-4a, L-4w, and L-Ballistic, with BDC variants available, let the series cover straightforward driven-hunt setups as well as more distance-oriented applications. Across the range, Leica combines shock-resistant aluminum housings with its lens-coating technology to deliver clear, color-neutral images, dependable mechanical strength, and handling suited to regular hunting use in difficult weather.

About the Leica AMPLUS 6 1-6x24i

The Leica AMPLUS 6 1-6x24i is the close- to mid-range model in the series, designed primarily for driven hunts, woodland stalking, and other situations where speed matters as much as precision. Its 1.00-6.00 x magnification range gives it two distinct strengths: at 1x it is fast and intuitive to use at short distances, while 6x provides enough image scale for more careful shot placement when the opportunity opens up farther out. Combined with a 38.00 m/100m maximum field of view, it helps the shooter stay on moving game and maintain awareness of the surroundings.

The optical layout is tuned for practical hunting use rather than bench-style specialization. A 24.00 mm objective lens, > 90% light transmission, and a large exit pupil support a bright, easy sight picture, especially when shooting positions are rushed or imperfect. The second focal plane reticle keeps its apparent size constant through the zoom range, which many hunters prefer for a clean, uncluttered view at higher magnification. Red illumination with daytime usability makes the aiming point stand out clearly in bright conditions and against dark game or shaded backgrounds.

Mechanically, this model stays simple and field-oriented. The capped turrets protect the settings from accidental movement during transport and rough handling, which suits a riflescope intended to be carried often and adjusted rarely in the field. Fixed parallax at 100m keeps operation straightforward, while the 30 mm tube, nitrogen filling, waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof construction support reliable use in changing weather. With a 90.00 mm eye relief, fast-focus eyepiece, and compact 480.00 g build, it remains comfortable on lightweight hunting rifles and quick to bring into action.

About Leica

Leica Camera AG traces its history to 1869, when Ernst Leitz took over Carl Kellner’s Optical Institute in Wetzlar. The company is still headquartered in Wetzlar, Germany and is known for precision optical products across cameras, lenses, and sport optics. In the hunting and observation field, Leica’s expertise covers binoculars, spotting scopes, riflescopes, and rangefinders, with a long-standing focus on optical clarity, mechanical precision, and compact design.

Leica has also played an important role in the development of modern sport optics. Ernst Leitz launched the company’s first binoculars in 1907, the first Trinovid binoculars entered production in 1958, and Leica introduced the Geovid in 1992 as the first binocular with an integrated rangefinder. Alongside the Geovid line, Leica’s Rangemaster rangefinders and riflescopes have built the brand’s reputation among hunters who value strong optical performance in practical field equipment.

What is the difference between Leica Amplus and Fortis series? Thanks

by Jean

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your understanding.

If you will need any additional information please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Hi How long is the warranty period with the Leica amplus6 1-6i? I’ve read somewhere that Leica has increased it to 30 years or so. How good is the glass clarity compared to a vortex viper pst gen2?

by Zoran

Dear Sir,

thank you for contacting us.

Leica offers 10 years of warranty for their riflescopes to this day.

Leica has a better field of view and is slightly sharper, however, one must consider the price difference amongst these two models as Vortex is far cheaper than Leica. For a more thorough assessment in this regard, we would kindly ask you to contact us directly at [email protected]

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Kind Regards,

Did the Leica Amplus6 1-6×24 replace the Magnus 1-6.3×24? Is the red dot bright enough to shoot 200-400yds? Is the reticle better than the Vortex Razor?

by Eugene

Leica Amplus is the latest riflescope series from Leica, but it did not replace the Magnus series as it is still available. This scope has a fully day-time bright reticle illumination. As for the Razor riflescope, we would kindly ask you to specify as to which one you are referring to so we can be of further assistance.
