Meprolight Mepro FRBS M2D

• Self-Illuminated Tritium Sights: The tritium inserts stay visible in low light and darkness without batteries or switches, so the sights remain ready at all times for defensive, duty, or field use.
• Flip-Up Backup Design: The FRBS layout gives a dependable secondary aiming system for rifles and carbines, making it useful when a primary optic is unavailable or when a simple iron-sight setup is preferred.
• High-Visibility Front Sight: A fluorescent orange front ring improves front-sight acquisition in daylight, helping the eye pick up the aiming point faster against varied backgrounds.
• Adjustable Sight System: The adjustable configuration allows the sight picture to be tuned to the rifle and ammunition, which matters for maintaining a practical zero rather than relying on a fixed point of impact.
• Dot-and-Bar Alignment: The dot and bar arrangement gives a clear, intuitive reference that is easy to center quickly, especially when speed matters more than fine target work.

About the Meprolight FRBS Series

The Meprolight FRBS series is a family of flip-up backup sights built for rifles, carbines, and AR-style firearms. In Meprolight’s rifle-sights range, FRBS models fill the role of a durable secondary aiming system that can stay folded under a primary optic and deploy when needed. That makes them relevant for defensive rifles, hard-use carbines, and practical shooting setups where a mechanical backup still matters.

A defining feature of the series is its battery-free tritium illumination. Meprolight uses green Swiss tritium in both the front and rear sights, while the front sight adds a fluorescent orange ring for stronger daytime contrast. This combination gives the FRBS line a broad operating envelope: quick front-sight visibility in daylight and a visible reference in low light without switches or power management. The series is offered in variants with two-dot or four-dot rear sights, allowing different sight-picture preferences, and it is designed to serve either as a backup to an optic or as a primary iron-sight solution on a straightforward rifle build.

About the Meprolight Mepro FRBS M2D

The Meprolight Mepro FRBS M2D is a self-illuminated adjustable rifle sight set built around practical speed and constant readiness. Its tritium-powered design keeps the sights visible in low light without relying on batteries, which is especially useful on a rifle that may be stored for long periods, carried on duty, or used in changing light conditions. Because the illumination is always available, the sight picture remains consistent from daylight into dusk and darkness.

This model uses a dot-and-bar alignment layout, paired with an O-style rear sight, to create a sight picture that is easy to read quickly. In practical use, that helps the shooter center the front sight with less visual clutter than more complex iron-sight patterns. The front sight’s fluorescent orange ring further improves daytime pickup, making transitions between targets faster and helping the eye lock onto the front sight against mixed terrain or urban backgrounds.

As part of the FRBS family, the M2D also works well as a folding backup sight on rifles and carbines equipped with a primary optic. Its adjustable construction allows proper zeroing to the firearm and ammunition combination, which is essential for a backup sight that may need to take over immediately if an optic is obstructed or out of service. The result is a compact, always-on iron-sight solution with a strong emphasis on low-light usability and straightforward aiming.

About Meprolight

Meprolight was founded in 1990 as a supplier of sights and battle optics to the Israel Defense Forces. Based in Or Akiva, Israel, the company develops and manufactures optical and electro-optical sighting systems for military, law-enforcement, and civilian markets. Its product range covers conventional sights, tritium night sights, reflex optics, magnified optics, night-vision systems, thermal devices, and related sighting solutions for pistols, rifles, shotguns, and carbines.

That background is especially relevant in products such as the FRBS series, where self-illuminated tritium technology and practical backup-sight design are central to the product’s purpose. As a division of SK Group, Meprolight is known for combining conventional sighting systems with electro-optical expertise, giving the brand a broad presence across both iron sights and more advanced aiming devices.
