Riton X5 Tactix 1-6x24 Thunder Ranch

• 1-6x LPVO range: True low magnification for fast, both-eyes-open work at close distance, with enough top-end magnification to place shots more precisely as targets move farther out.
• THR illuminated reticle: The Thunder Ranch reticle is built around practical 5.56 use, and the daylight-bright green illumination helps the aiming point stand out quickly against dark targets and mixed backgrounds.
• Lockable tactical turrets: Positive 0.2 MRAD adjustments and a lockable design help prevent accidental movement while still allowing deliberate corrections when the rifle is being zeroed or fine-tuned.
• Integrated removable throw lever: Faster magnification changes make it easier to move from close-range scanning to more deliberate aiming without breaking shooting rhythm.
• Compact 30 mm build: The 260.00 mm body and 30 mm tube keep the scope manageable on carbines while maintaining the adjustment range and durability expected from a tactical optic.

About the Riton X5 Series

The Riton X5 series was introduced as part of Riton’s application-based optics lineup announced on January 16, 2020, where the numbered tiers included the 5-series. Within that family, Riton grouped together Primal, Tactix, and Conquer models to cover different shooting roles rather than offering one general-purpose design. That structure placed the X5 line in the middle of the company’s riflescope range, aimed at shooters who wanted more specialized features for hunting, tactical use, or precision work.

In practical terms, the X5 family spans short-range tactical scopes through long-range precision models, with the Tactix variants focused on short-range and tactical applications. Across the series, the emphasis is on purpose-built configurations, modern reticle layouts, and mechanical designs matched to the job at hand rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. The X5 line also reflects Riton’s broader move to separate hunting optics from tactical and competition-oriented models, making it easier for shooters to choose a scope around the way the rifle is actually used. Riton now categorizes the 5-series riflescopes as discontinued in its product-manual listings, but the series remains a clear example of the brand’s tiered, role-specific approach to riflescope design.

About the Riton X5 Tactix 1-6x24 Thunder Ranch

The Riton X5 Tactix 1-6x24 Thunder Ranch is a low power variable riflescope built around the needs of a practical carbine. At 1-6x magnification, it covers the two jobs most often asked of an LPVO: rapid target acquisition at close range and more deliberate shot placement at intermediate distance. The 24.00 mm objective lens, wide field of view, and fixed 91,44 m parallax setting suit the scope to general-purpose 5.56 rifles where speed matters as much as precision.

This model stands out through its THR reticle, developed for the Thunder Ranch version, and its 6 levels of green illumination with off positions between settings. That arrangement makes brightness changes quicker in the field and helps preserve a usable aiming point across changing light conditions. Because the scope uses a Second Focal Plane reticle, the reticle appearance stays visually consistent as magnification changes, which many shooters prefer for fast work at the low end.

The mechanical layout is equally practical. Lockable tactical turrets help guard against unintended adjustment, while the 0.2 MRAD click value gives straightforward zeroing control. An integrated removable throw lever speeds up transitions between magnification settings, and the fast-focus eyepiece helps bring the reticle into sharp focus quickly. With a 30 mm tube, 40.00 mrad of elevation and windage adjustment, nitrogen filling, and waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof construction, this riflescope is configured for hard field use on a working rifle rather than occasional range duty.

About Riton

Riton Optics was founded in 2013, with its initial consumer sales beginning in 2016. The company is based in Tucson, Arizona, United States, and focuses on sporting optics for rifle, carbine, and field use. Its catalog includes riflescopes, red-dot sights, and binoculars, with named product lines such as Primal, Tactix, and Conquer that separate hunting, tactical, and precision-oriented applications.

That structure is useful because it shows how Riton approaches optics design: not as one broad range, but as distinct families for different shooting tasks. In the riflescope category, the company identifies Tactix as the tactical-focused line, while Primal covers hunting use. Riton also notes the use of high-density and extra-low-dispersion glass in some optics, and its products feature fully multi-coated lenses with anti-reflective coatings. Those details reflect a brand centered on practical optical performance, straightforward feature sets, and application-specific design rather than purely cosmetic model differences.
