Athlon Cronus BTR GEN2 1-6x24 UHD

• True LPVO versatility: The 1-6x24 range covers fast, both-eyes-open work at 1x and still gives enough magnification for more deliberate shots at distance, making the scope well suited to 3-gun, patrol carbines, and close- to mid-range hunting.
• UHD glass and fully multicoated lenses: The optical system is built to reduce chromatic fringe and maintain strong contrast, which helps targets stand out more clearly against busy backgrounds and keeps the sight picture usable in changing light.
• Locking tactical turrets with Zero Stop: The exposed turrets are designed for shooters who may dial, but the locking function helps prevent accidental movement during transport or hard use, while the zero stop gives a fast, repeatable return to the original zero.
• Daytime-bright illuminated SFP reticle: The red illuminated reticle remains easy to pick up at low magnification for speed, while the second focal plane layout keeps the reticle appearance consistent across the zoom range.
• Field-ready construction: A 30 mm one-piece tube, argon purging, and waterproof, fogproof, shockproof construction support reliable use in wet weather, temperature changes, and repeated recoil.

About the Athlon Cronus BTR Series

Athlon Cronus BTR sits at the top end of Athlon's riflescope range and was developed as a premium line for shooters who need more than a basic hunting optic. The series first appeared in Athlon's 2015 riflescope plan, and the broader Cronus BTR family has included both a compact 1-6x24 SFP low-power variable model and larger 4.5-29x56 FFP long-range configurations. That spread shows the role of the series clearly: it is built to cover tactical shooting, competition, and serious field use rather than a single narrow application.

Within the family, Athlon has offered both MOA and MIL reticle systems as well as reticle designs such as APLR and APRS, reflecting a practical focus on holdovers, wind calls, and repeatable adjustment. The later Cronus BTR GEN2 UHD series separates itself as a more refined branch of the line, pairing premium glass with a mechanical layout aimed at shooters who expect dependable tracking and robust turret systems. In practical terms, the Cronus BTR name is associated with strong optical clarity, competition-oriented reticle choices, and a design philosophy that balances speed, precision, and durability across both LPVO and long-range riflescope formats.

About the Athlon Cronus BTR GEN2 1-6x24 UHD

The Athlon Cronus BTR GEN2 1-6x24 UHD is a low-power variable optic built for rifles that need to move quickly between close targets and more deliberate shots farther out. At 1x, it supports fast target acquisition and a broad field of view, which is valuable in 3-gun stages, practical carbine use, and hunting in tighter terrain. At 6x, it gives enough image scale for more precise shot placement and better target identification without adding the bulk of a higher-magnification scope.

This model uses a second focal plane illuminated reticle, so the reticle keeps the same apparent size throughout the magnification range. That makes the center aiming point easy to see at low power and familiar at high power, especially for shooters who prioritize speed. Athlon's official configuration for this model uses the ATSR2 SFP IR MOA reticle, designed with holdover and wind references that suit practical carbine work. The daytime-usable red illumination helps the center stand out against dark targets or cluttered backgrounds in bright conditions.

Mechanically, the scope is set up for hard use. The locking tactical turrets help prevent unintentional adjustment when the rifle is slung or moved through barricades, while the Zero Stop system gives a clear return to the established zero after dialing. A 30 mm tube, argon purging, and waterproof, fogproof, shockproof construction support reliability in changing weather and repeated recoil. The compact 270.00 mm length and 533.00 g weight also keep the rifle balanced, which matters on carbines meant to be carried and handled quickly.

About Athlon

Athlon Optics was founded in 2014 and describes itself as a U.S. sports optics company. Its product range covers riflescopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, rangefinders, red-dot sights, and thermal optics, with a clear focus on hunting, shooting, and general outdoor use. Within that lineup, families such as Cronus and Midas show Athlon's emphasis on building parallel product lines for different performance levels and uses.

In technical terms, Athlon is known for features relevant to this category, including UHD glass to reduce chromatic fringe, XPL exterior lens coating for added surface protection, and a precision zero-stop system used on higher-end riflescopes. Across its optics range, the company has built a reputation around practical feature sets aimed at shooters who want modern reticles, durable construction, and mechanical systems designed for regular field use rather than occasional range work.
