Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24 SFP

• True 1-8x LPVO range: The scope works like a fast close-range optic at 1x and still gives enough magnification for more deliberate shots at distance, making it well suited to AR-platform rifles used across mixed shooting distances.
• Illuminated SFP reticle: The second focal plane design keeps the reticle visually consistent through the zoom range, while the red illumination helps the aiming point stand out faster against dark targets or cluttered backgrounds.
• Capped 1/2 MOA turrets: Low-profile capped turrets protect the settings from accidental movement during transport or field use, which suits a riflescope that is expected to stay zeroed and be used quickly rather than constantly dialed.
• 30 mm tube with 100 MOA adjustment: The 30 mm main tube provides a solid mounting platform and generous internal adjustment range, giving more flexibility when zeroing different rifle and mount combinations.
• Compact, field-ready construction: At 254.00 mm and 468.00 g, with nitrogen filling and waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof construction, this riflescope stays manageable on lightweight carbines and dependable in changing weather.

About the Vortex Strike Eagle Series

Vortex Strike Eagle sits in the brand's lineup as a series for value-minded shooters who want practical features for real use rather than a stripped-down entry model. The family covers both low-power variable optics for fast, close-range work and higher-magnification riflescopes intended for longer-range shooting, so the series spans everything from AR carbines to more deliberate precision setups. Across the range, Vortex uses different reticle systems, including AR-BDC and EBR patterns, with both first- and second-focal-plane configurations represented.

That broad structure gives the Strike Eagle line a clear identity: versatile riflescopes built around useful magnification ranges, straightforward controls, and reticles matched to common shooting tasks. In the LPVO part of the series, the emphasis is on quick target acquisition at low power and enough top-end magnification for intermediate distances. In the higher-magnification models, the focus shifts toward more precise holdovers and longer engagement distances. This makes the series relevant to recreational shooting, practical rifle competition, and general-purpose hunting optics where adaptability matters more than specialized benchrest features.

About the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24 SFP

Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24 SFP is a classic LPVO riflescope built for shooters who need one optic to cover close work and mid-range use on the same rifle. At 1x, it supports fast sight pictures and easier shooting with both eyes open, which is valuable for dynamic stages, training, and general-purpose carbine use. Moving up to 8x gives enough image scale to refine holds and place shots more carefully on smaller or more distant targets, without moving into the size and weight penalties of a larger objective scope.

The 24 mm objective and fully multicoated lenses are paired with a wide field of view of 38.90 m/100m on low power, helping the shooter pick up targets quickly and track movement more naturally. The second focal plane reticle keeps the reticle appearance consistent as magnification changes, which many shooters prefer in a fast-handling AR setup because the aiming pattern remains easy to see at low power. Red illumination further improves visibility when the target or background reduces reticle contrast.

This model uses capped turrets with 1/2 MOA clicks and 100.00 MOA of elevation and windage adjustment. In practice, that favors a holdover-based shooting style where the scope stays protected from accidental adjustment and remains ready for immediate use. A fixed 100 m parallax setting keeps operation simple, while the fast-focus eyepiece allows quick reticle sharpening to the shooter's eye. The 30 mm tube, nitrogen filling, and waterproof, fogproof, shockproof construction complete a compact optic designed for hard use on modern sporting rifles.

About Vortex

Vortex traces its roots to a Wild Birds Unlimited store opened by the Hamilton family in Madison, Wisconsin, in 1986. The Vortex brand entered the sport optics market in 2002, and the company is now headquartered in Barneveld, Wisconsin. It is employee-owned and operated, with a product range that covers riflescopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, red dots, and laser rangefinders for hunting, shooting, and outdoor use.

The company is particularly well known for building practical sport optics across several established families, including Razor, Viper, and Kaibab. Its catalog also includes ballistic tools powered by GeoBallistics technology, showing a broader focus on field use beyond glass alone. In the shooting segment, Vortex has built a strong reputation for offering optics that span entry-level to advanced applications, including AR optics, precision riflescopes, and observation equipment.
