Nikko Stirling Ultimax 2.5-10x50

• 2.5-10x magnification range: This zoom span covers close woodland shots as well as more deliberate shooting across open ground, making the scope well suited to all-round hunting rifles.
• 50 mm objective lens: The larger front lens helps maintain a bright sight picture in poor light, which is especially useful at dawn, dusk, and in shaded cover.
• 4A illuminated SFP reticle: The bold outer posts draw the eye quickly, while the illuminated center supports precise aiming against dark backgrounds without making the reticle appear oversized as magnification changes.
• 30 mm tube with 1/4 MOA clicks: The larger maintube provides a solid platform for adjustment travel, and the fine click value allows careful zeroing for hunting ammunition and field distances.
• Waterproof, shockproof, nitrogen-filled construction: This build helps the scope stay dependable through recoil, rain, and temperature changes that can otherwise cause internal fogging.

About the Nikko Stirling Ultimax Series

The Nikko Stirling Ultimax series sits at the upper end of the brand’s hunting riflescope range and is built for shooters who want a more refined optical and mechanical package for field use. Developed for hunters, the series combines Japanese manufacture with a 30 mm maintube, multicoated lenses, and a construction that is waterproof, shockproof, and nitrogen filled. That combination gives the Ultimax line a clear focus: dependable hunting optics with strong low-light capability and practical durability.

A defining feature across the series is fiber-optic illumination, used to create a bright red center dot that remains easy to pick up in difficult lighting, from dark woodland edges to bright snow or open ground. The range includes models tailored to different hunting styles, from the wide-field 1-6x24 for fast shooting at short distances to larger-objective versions intended for more deliberate shots and poorer light. Across the family, the design philosophy stays consistent: clear optics, straightforward controls, and reticle layouts that support quick target acquisition without distracting from precise shot placement.

About the Nikko Stirling Ultimax 2.5-10x50

The Nikko Stirling Ultimax 2.5-10x50 is the all-round hunting model in the series, balancing a useful zoom range with a 50 mm objective lens for better image brightness when legal shooting light is fading. At 2.5x, it remains practical for shorter-range opportunities where a wider view helps track moving game. At 10x, it gives enough magnification for more careful shot placement across fields, clearings, or hillside ground. This makes it a versatile choice for hunters who want one riflescope to cover varied terrain rather than a highly specialized setup.

The scope uses a 4A illuminated reticle in the second focal plane, so the reticle size stays visually consistent throughout the zoom range. In practice, that keeps the aiming picture familiar at every magnification, while the bold outer structure helps the eye center quickly on game. The red illumination adds contrast when the target blends into dark vegetation or low-contrast backgrounds, and the fine center aiming area supports more deliberate shots than a heavier reticle would.

Mechanically, the Ultimax 2.5-10x50 is built around a 30 mm tube with capped turrets and 1/4 MOA clicks. This configuration suits a hunting riflescope because the turrets stay protected from accidental movement during carry, while still allowing precise zeroing. With waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof construction, plus multicoated lenses and nitrogen filling, it is designed to stay reliable in changing weather and under regular recoil.

About Nikko Stirling

Nikko Stirling traces its beginnings to 1956, when it was established by Malcolm John Fuller. The brand focuses on sport optics for hunters and marksmen, with a catalogue that covers riflescopes, binoculars, reflex sights, and laser rangefinders. Its riflescope families include lines such as Diamond Hunting, Diamond FFP, Metor, Panamax, Airking, and Mountmaster, showing a long-standing emphasis on practical optics for different shooting disciplines.

Within that broader range, Nikko Stirling has built its reputation around field-oriented designs that prioritize usable reticles, durable construction, and configurations suited to hunting and sporting rifles. The company also offers products such as the Metor HD binocular line, the NSLRF laser rangefinders, and reflex sights including the PRO-T5, PRO-T4, and XT4, reinforcing its specialization in sporting and shooting optics rather than general outdoor equipment.
