March-FX 5-42x56 High Master Gen II

• High Master optical system: Super ED lens elements and a high-magnification design help reduce chromatic aberration, so fine target detail stays cleaner and easier to read at long range.
• 5-42x magnification range: The broad zoom span covers everything from target identification and load development to precise shot placement at extended distance without changing optics.
• First focal plane reticle: The FFP layout keeps reticle subtensions consistent through the zoom range, which makes holdovers and corrections more intuitive at any magnification.
• Shuriken locking turrets with Zero Stop: The exposed tactical turret system is built for repeatable dialing, while the lock and stop features help prevent accidental movement and speed up a return to zero.
• Side focus from 10 m to infinity: Close parallax adjustment gives the scope useful flexibility for both range work and long-distance shooting, while helping maintain a sharper sight picture across varied distances.

About the March FX Series

March FX is a current riflescope family from March built around a first focal plane reticle and a 34 mm main tube. Within the manufacturer’s lineup, it serves shooters who want a modern tactical-style optic with usable holdover references across the full magnification range, rather than a traditional second focal plane layout. The series spans compact low-power models as well as high-magnification long-range optics, which makes it relevant to practical competition, precision shooting and hunting where a single scope may need to cover very different distances.

Across the range, the design philosophy centers on broad adjustment capability, precise mechanical control and a compact but robust construction. In the 5-42x56 configuration, the series is aimed at long-range shooters, competition shooters and hunters, combining a wide zoom ratio with a wide-angle eyepiece and the option of the High Master lens system. That places the March FX line in the part of the market where reticle function, dialing precision and image control matter as much as raw magnification. It is a series shaped for shooters who regularly work with holds, corrections and changing distances, and who need an optic that remains practical from setup on the range to demanding field use.

About the March-FX 5-42x56 High Master Gen II

The March-FX 5-42x56 High Master Gen II is a specialist long-range riflescope built for shooters who need both broad magnification range and precise mechanical control. Its 5-42x zoom range gives it unusual flexibility: lower magnification remains useful for finding targets and reading conditions, while the upper end supports careful aiming and detail resolution at extended distances. The 56 mm objective lens helps the scope maintain a bright, usable image as magnification climbs, which is especially important when mirage, small target features or distant impacts need to be read clearly.

This model stands out within the range through its High Master lens system, which uses Super ED lens elements to better control color fringing and preserve contrast. In practical terms, that means a cleaner image around high-contrast edges and less visual distraction when shooting at long range. The first focal plane reticle supports accurate holds at any magnification, making the scope suitable for shooters who alternate between dialing and reticle-based corrections. Red illumination adds reticle visibility when the target or background reduces contrast.

Mechanically, the scope is configured for serious dialing use. The Shuriken locking turrets are exposed for fast adjustment, while Zero Stop helps the shooter return quickly to the established zero after elevation changes. With 40 mrad of elevation travel, 14 mrad of windage adjustment and side focus from 10 m to infinity, the optic is set up for precise work across a very wide distance envelope. A 34 mm tube, waterproof, fogproof and shockproof construction, and a weight of 925 g underline that this is a purpose-built tactical and precision shooting optic rather than a lightweight general-use scope.

About March

March is the riflescope brand designed and manufactured by DEON Optical Design Corporation, a Japanese company established in 2004. DEON is headquartered in Chino, Nagano Prefecture, Japan, and focuses on custom rifle scopes assembled in Japan from Japanese-made components. The brand is known for concentrating on precision-oriented optics rather than broad mass-market lines, with product families including March-FX, March-X, Genesis and High Master.

In this category, March has built its reputation around high-magnification optics, exact tracking and advanced lens design. DEON introduced its first March 40×52 mm benchrest scope in 2007, and later brought Super ED lenses into the March range in 2017. Those developments are directly relevant to models like the High Master series, which combines Super ED and high-refractive-index lens elements to improve image sharpness and contrast while maintaining the mechanical precision expected from premium Japanese long-range riflescopes.
