About the S&B Accessories Series

S&B Accessories is the factory accessory range developed to support Schmidt & Bender riflescopes with model-specific add-ons for hunting, competition and professional use. Rather than treating accessories as generic extras, Schmidt & Bender builds this series around the same practical approach as its optics: each item is intended to solve a clear field requirement, whether that means reducing reflections, improving handling, protecting exposed parts or adapting the scope to a particular setup.

The series includes components such as sunshades, anti-reflection devices, lens covers, filters, adapters, cleaning equipment and magnification levers. A key characteristic of the range is that compatibility is specified by riflescope model, which helps preserve correct fit and function across different Schmidt & Bender designs. In practice, that makes the accessories series especially relevant for shooters who want factory-matched parts rather than universal solutions. For hunting optics in particular, the range focuses on durability, weather resistance and straightforward operation, so the accessory complements the riflescope without complicating its use in the field.

About the Schmidt & Bender Battery Cap Hunting

The Schmidt & Bender Battery Cap Hunting is a dedicated riflescope accessory made for all riflescopes of the Hunting Line. Its role is simple but important: it closes and protects the battery compartment of an illuminated hunting scope, helping the illumination system remain dependable when the optic is exposed to recoil, moisture and everyday field handling. On a hunting riflescope, even a small component like the battery cap matters because stable battery contact is essential for consistent reticle illumination in low light.

The cap is made from aluminium, which gives it a good balance of low weight and mechanical strength. That makes it suitable for a rifle carried over long distances while still being robust enough for repeated battery changes and regular outdoor use. Schmidt & Bender’s hunting accessories are designed with practical field conditions in mind, so this cap is best understood as a purpose-built replacement or spare part rather than a cosmetic add-on.

For hunters using illuminated Schmidt & Bender optics, a correct factory-fit cap helps maintain the scope’s intended handling and weather protection. It is a sensible accessory to keep on hand if the original part has been damaged or misplaced, and it preserves the clean, integrated feel expected from a premium hunting riflescope system.

About Schmidt & Bender

Schmidt & Bender was founded in 1957 by Helmut Schmidt and Helmut Bender in Biebertal-Fellingshausen, Germany. The company remains based in Biebertal and is known for building precision riflescopes for hunting, competition shooting, police and military use. Its product range includes well-known lines such as Zenith and PM II, reflecting a long focus on mechanically precise and application-specific optics.

Within the sporting optics market, Schmidt & Bender has built its reputation around riflescopes and related accessories rather than a broad outdoor catalog. That specialization is relevant here: even small parts are developed to match the fit, function and operating demands of the company’s optics. The brand’s history with illuminated hunting scopes, including the introduction of FlashDot illumination in the Zenith series, also shows its long-standing emphasis on practical low-light performance for field use.
