Schmidt & Bender Protective Cap Posicon for Polar T96 and Zenith Series

• Turret Protection: This protective cap shields the adjustment turret against unintended movement, helping the riflescope keep its chosen zero during transport, storage and field use.
• Posicon Compatibility: Built for Polar T96 and Zenith series riflescopes with Posicon adjustment, it provides the correct fit for these hunting optics rather than a generic cover.
• Aluminium Construction: The aluminium body adds durable protection against knocks, dirt and weather while keeping weight low on the rifle.
• Integrated Position Concept: As part of Schmidt & Bender’s Posicon turret system, this cap supports a setup that helps users keep track of individual ballistic settings in a clear, repeatable way.
• Field-Ready Finish: The black finish matches the scope body and keeps the accessory discreet on hunting rifles and traditional sporting setups.

About the S&B Accessories Series

S&B Accessories brings together the factory-made add-ons developed specifically for Schmidt & Bender riflescopes. Rather than treating accessories as generic extras, the series is built around model-specific fit and practical use in the field. The range includes lens covers, anti-reflection devices, filters, cleaning items, adapters and magnification levers, with compatibility defined by the individual riflescope model.

A clear theme across the series is functional improvement without changing the core handling of the optic. Sunshades are designed to reduce stray light and reflections, killFlash devices use a honeycomb structure to limit visible lens reflection, and eyepiece light-shade extenders are offered in both slip-on and screw-on forms. This same approach carries over to turret-related accessories, where protection and repeatable handling matter as much as compactness. In practice, S&B Accessories are intended for shooters and hunters who want factory-matched components that preserve the original character of the scope while adding protection, glare control or handling advantages where needed.

About the Schmidt & Bender Protective Cap Posicon for Polar T96 and Zenith Series

The Schmidt & Bender Protective Cap Posicon for Polar T96 and Zenith Series is a purpose-built turret accessory for riflescopes that use the Posicon adjustment system. Its role is straightforward but important: it covers the turret to reduce the chance of accidental adjustment while also protecting the mechanism from impact, dirt and changing weather. For hunting rifles carried through brush, placed in vehicles or stored in cases, that added protection helps preserve confidence in the optic’s settings.

The cap is made from aluminium, which gives it the rigidity expected from a scope accessory without adding unnecessary bulk. That matters on compact and lightweight hunting setups, where accessories should protect the optic without making it cumbersome. The black finish keeps the appearance consistent with the riflescope and avoids drawing attention with bright or contrasting surfaces.

Its main advantage is correct compatibility with Polar T96 and Zenith series models equipped for this turret style. A dedicated cap fits securely and works with the intended handling of the scope, which is especially relevant on premium hunting optics where turret feel and repeatability are part of the overall design. Schmidt & Bender also notes that a protective cap without energy container is available for the 1-8x24 Exos, showing that these accessories are tailored to specific scope configurations rather than treated as one-size-fits-all parts.

About Schmidt & Bender

Schmidt & Bender was founded in 1957 by Helmut Schmidt and Helmut Bender in Biebertal-Fellingshausen, Germany. The company remains based in Biebertal and is known for making precision riflescopes for hunting, competition shooting, police and military use. Its product families include established lines such as Zenith and PM II, reflecting both sporting and professional applications.

The company’s history in hunting optics is closely tied to practical scope development. The first Zenith riflescope, the 2.5-10x56, was introduced in 2001, and Zenith models were equipped with FlashDot illumination from 2002. Schmidt & Bender expanded further in 1992 by establishing a Hungarian subsidiary based on an optical department acquired from MOM. Today, the brand is associated with mechanically precise, application-specific riflescopes and matching accessories designed to maintain that same standard in field use.
