Yukon Advanced Optics Worldwide is excited to announce the latest addition to its Pulsar Thermion Thermal line, the Pulsar Thermion Duo DXP55. This multispectral riflescope was showcased for the first time ever to the general public at the Shot Show 2023 in Las Vegas.

You can read more about its predecessor Pulsar Thermion Duo DXP50 here.

Enhanced Long-Distance Observation at its Finest

Building on the success of the DXP50, the Thermion Duo DXP55 takes thermal imaging to the next level by providing exceptional capabilities for long-distance observation.

The new model combines thermal and digital imaging to create an informative and convenient experience for the user. It boasts high-precision ambidextrous focusing knobs and a fin lever for easy and precise focusing of the thermal channel.

Additionally, the DXP55 boasts an improved quality of daytime observation with a higher base magnification of the daytime channel (4x) compared to the DXP50 (2x).

Pulsar promises that this riflescope will allow the hunters to locate and analyze game under all weather conditions.

High-Definition Daytime Imaging with the Pulsar Thermion Duo DXP55’s 4k Camera

Thermion Duo DXP55 is outfitted with a powerful 4k digital camera that allows for high-quality daytime observation. The camera allows for zooming in on your target up to 16x without quality loss, making it ideal for game hunters at long distances. The field of view (FOV) of the digital channel on minimum magnification is 10.6×8 at 100 m.

Furthermore, the device’s Picture-in-picture function allows for simultaneous observation in both the thermal and digital channels, revolutionizing the hunting experience.

It is important to note, however, that the digital camera remains to be only usable during the daytime.

Advanced Thermal Imaging Sensor for Exceptional Detection

Fitted on the DXP55 is a high-sensitivity European-made thermal imaging sensor with less than 25 mK NETD which is able to capture minimal temperature differences in low-temperature contrast conditions. Both daytime and thermal sensors are the same as on the DXP 50.

The capabilities of the high-sensitivity sensor can be fully utilized in the thermal imaging channel when paired with the fast aperture F50/1.0 germanium lens, resulting in the most efficient detection possible in any weather conditions, day or night.

Combined with the device’s 640×480 resolution, Pulsar Thermion Duo DXP55 provides the hunter with exceptional details of the target and its surroundings.

And it goes even further than that. Pulsar tells us that its object-detecting capabilities are so exceptional that even in pitch-black conditions, it can spot something as tall as 1.8 meters from 1800 meters away.

The FOV of the thermal channel on minimum magnification is 21.8×16.4 at 100 m.

Built-in Wi-Fi Module for Stream Vision 2

Pulsar Thermion Duo DXP 55 can also connect to Android and iOS smartphones through the Stream Vision 2 app, thanks to the built-in Wi-Fi module, which remains the same as on the DXP 50, as well.

This system offers many benefits such as wireless software updates, real-time image transfer to mobile devices, remote control of digital features, and cloud storage for photos and videos taken using the device.

Internal Memory and Video Recording

If you often find yourself in situations where you just wish your friends could see what you do, then Pulsar Thermion Duo DXP 55 has a solution for you.

With just the touch of a button, you can capture images or start recording videos. These will store on the device where they will wait for the appropriate moment to be shared with your friends.

The device features 16 GB of internal memory, allowing for many hours of video recording and thousands of photos to be stored.

User-Friendly and Adaptable for any Condition

Pulsar Thermion Duo DXP55 is designed to be user-friendly, with a simple and easy-to-use interface. The device is perfect for use under any weather conditions, be it rain, fog, or frost.

It is also worth mentioning that the visual aesthetics of this riflescope strongly resemble some of the time-tested looks of more classic scopes. This is especially good news for those that aren’t too keen on the sort of “alien” look of a lot of digital riflescopes.

Mounting, Recoil, and Warranty

Pulsar Thermion Duo DXP 55’s tube diameter is 30 mm, which means that it is going to be fairly easy to mount it on a rifle with a 30 mm scope mount. If you wish to get ready for that, you can start here: 30mm Scope Mount Rings at Optics Trade

The scope will have a high-caliber recoil resistance and it will be able to withstand the impact of calibers such as 9.3×64, .30-06, .300, .375H&H, etc., as well as the kick of a 12 GA bore.

If anything goes wrong, you can count on Pulsar’s 3-year warranty.

Battery Life of Pulsar Thermion Duo DXP55

A common issue among users of thermal or night vision equipment is the limited battery life. Pulsar found a creative solution to this problem when they introduced the Duo DXP50, which is powered by two rechargeable batteries. Duo DXP55 features the same system.

The primary battery is built-in, while the secondary battery is removable. This means that it can be quickly swapped with a fully charged one.

The battery life is estimated at around 6 hours during active use of the scope, but at the moment of writing this, we cannot yet fully confirm this.

  • Thermion Duo DXP55
Can you tell me when will this scope be released in ireland or UK?
Will this scope be good enough to shoot foxes at night from 250-400 yards without losing clarity when you zoom in as I had a thermion XP50 and don’t think much of it.
    Thanks Michael

    • Pulsar estimates the release date at Q1 2023, but we, sadly, don’t have the information regarding a more precise date.

If you have the Thermion 2 XP50, than you can expect a pretty much same image from the new Duo DXP55, because the digital camera is only usable in daytime.
