About the Shield RMS mounting standard
The Shield RMS mounting standard, popular for compact open reflex red dot sights, has a layout resembling the Docter/Noblex standard in terms of socket and screw hole arrangement, yet it is more compact. There are four sockets for the adapter pins, one placed at each corner of the mounting surface. Additionally, it features two screw holes positioned between the middle and rear section for a secure fit.

Dimensions of the Shield RMS mounting standard
Note: The measurements are given in millimeters. The distance between holes (sockets) is measured from the center of one hole (socket) to the center of another.

Modifications of the Shield mounting standard
Leupold DeltaPoint Pro mounting standard
This mounting standard, initially introduced with the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, bears a resemblance to the Shield RMS mounting standard but with notable differences. The sockets, located in each corner of the mounting surface, are 4.2 mm in diameter, compared to the 3.8 mm diameter sockets of the Shield RMS standard. As a result, red dot sights adhering to this standard can technically be installed on adapters made for the Shield RMS standard, but the fit will be loose and less secure. Conversely, red dot sights designed for the Shield RMS standard cannot be mounted on adapters intended for the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro mounting standard due to these dimensional variations.

Holosun 407/507K mounting standard
The Holosun 407/507K mounting standard is an adaptation of the Shield RMS standard, with two significant alterations. Firstly, it lacks the rear sockets found in the Shield standard, and secondly, the front sockets are shallower. These changes mean that to mount a red dot sight using the 407/507K standard onto an adapter intended for the Shield RMS, it’s necessary to remove the rear pins and reduce the height of the front pins.

Holosun EPS mounting standard
This modification takes cues from the Holosun 407/507K mounting standard but is further altered. While it retains the changes from the Shield RMS mounting standard seen in the 407/507K — namely, the absence of rear sockets and shallower front sockets — the Holosun EPS mounting standard introduces further modifications. Notably, it includes two additional sockets located on the front part of the mounting surface, positioned between the two standard front sockets.
