Delta Optical, recently rebranded to simply “Delta”, has introduced two new riflescopes at the beginning of 2023. Both of them belong to the very successful Delta Stryker HD series: Delta Stryker HD 1-10×28 and Delta Stryker HD 3.5-21×44.
The New Delta Stryker HD 1-10×28
The Delta Stryker HD 1-10×28 is soon going to become the newest member of the Delta Stryker HD series. It is still in its prototype stage, but we were able to get our hands on it at the latest IWA 2023.
It is a wide-angle MIL/MIL riflescope with a very small and compact body. The compactness, though, can be a bit deceiving. With a 34 mm tube and a 28 mm lens it is surprisingly heavy, but considering what it offers, its weight is perfectly acceptable.
Reticle and Magnification
Delta Stryker HD 1-10×28’s magnification ranges from 1x to 10x and has the reticle placed in the first focal plane. It comes with a classic Christmas tree reticle pattern that is clearly visible at the 10x magnification. At 6x or below, however, the Christmas tree is slowly replaced by a simpler dot at the middle with an illuminated circle around the dot. This, combined with the wide FOV, makes it a very formidable tool to be used in close-quarter situations.
The new Delta HD 1-10×28 model comes with exposed tactical turrets with locking function. The parallax extends from 10 m to infinity, so not much has changed in this department compared to some of the other Delta Stryker models.
We can see this scope being used by those that expect potential close-quarter engagements. It will fit perfectly on some of the light tactical semi-auto rifles.
Pricing and Release Date of the Delta Stryker HD 1-10×28
As mentioned above, Delta Stryker HD 1-10×28 is currently still in its prototype stage, so we aren’t yet aware of its release date.
In regard to its price, however, we expect it to revolve around 2000 €. If these estimates are true, then we can look forward to a great bargain since this riflescope truly has a lot to offer.
It seems like Delta is determined to continuously improve its Stryker HD series. The Delta Stryker HD 1-10×28 will soon become a part of it, and it will bring the whole series closer to current trends.
Since the Delta Stryker HD 1-6×24 is already available, the new model will try to offer some extra versatility to the existent choice. It looks like Delta saw a potential gap in the market, and they are joining the fight to fill it.
The competition will be fierce, though. Just at the IWA 2023 alone we were able to see that other manufacturers are of similar thoughts. March, for instance, is improving its March 1-10×24 Shorty which will see similar use as the new Delta model. There are many more, so when the Delta Stryker HD 1-10×28 finally does come out, it will truly have to be a formidable piece in order to stand out from the crowd.
Can Delta do it? In our opinion: it will probably offer a lot of value for its price, but we’ll have to see what the time brings. You can subscribe to our YouTube channel to be among the first to see the review of this riflescope once we get it in our hands: Optics Trade YouTube channel
