Guide KODIAK TK650L 3.0 Product description

  • 50 mm F0.9 Lens with 2600 m Detection Range: The large, fast objective lens provides a 4× base magnification and a detection range of up to 2600 m, allowing heat sources to be spotted and assessed at long distances across open terrain.
  • Integrated 1200 m Laser Rangefinder: The built-in rangefinder measures distances up to 1200 m, so the hunter can confirm the range to an animal before deciding on a shot or an approach, without carrying a separate device.
  • 640×512 Shutterless ApexVision Thermal Imaging: The 12 µm VOx detector with 15 mK NETD and shutterless operation delivers a detailed, uninterrupted thermal image, displayed on a 1.03″ 2560×2560 AMOLED screen.
  • Compact, Symmetrical One-Hand Design: Weighing 593 g with battery and using a focusing roller for one-handed operation, the monocular can be used equally comfortably with the left or right hand during long observation sessions.

ABOUT THE KODIAK 3.0 SERIES

The Guide KODIAK 3.0 series is a line of compact thermal imaging monoculars with an integrated laser rangefinder, developed for night hunting, outdoor exploration, search and rescue, security work and personal safety. The series is offered in two configurations, the TK635L 3.0 with a 35 mm F0.9 lens and the TK650L 3.0 with a 50 mm F0.9 lens, allowing users to choose between a wider field of view and longer detection range.

Both models are built on Guide's ApexVision S1 architecture, which combines the ApexCore S1 detector, the Nexus 1.0 platform and the Hyper-Light 3.0 image algorithm. The uncooled 640×512 VOx sensor with 12 µm pixel pitch and 15 mK NETD sensitivity works without a mechanical shutter, providing smooth, continuous imaging at 50 Hz.

The series shares a 1.03″ AMOLED display with 2560×2560 resolution, a 1200 m laser rangefinder, 64 GB of internal storage for photos and videos with audio, and dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 and 5 GHz) for use with the TargetIR app and over-the-air firmware updates. The housing is rated IP67, the device starts up in about 3 seconds, and the symmetrical ergonomic layout with a focusing roller supports one-handed use with either hand.

ABOUT THE MODEL (GUIDE KODIAK TK650L 3.0)

The Guide KODIAK TK650L 3.0 is the long-range model of the series. Its 50 mm F0.9 objective lens provides a base magnification of 4×, which can be increased digitally up to 32×, and a detection range of up to 2600 m. The field of view of 8.8°×7.0°, or 15.4×12.3 m at 100 m, is narrower than on the 35 mm version, which places more pixels on a distant target. This makes the TK650L 3.0 well suited to observing large fields, pastures and open hillsides, where animals need to be detected and identified before approaching.

The 640×512 detector with 15 mK NETD picks up small temperature differences, which helps separate animals from vegetation in damp or foggy conditions. The fast F0.9 aperture gathers a large amount of thermal radiation, and the shutterless design keeps the image running without calibration pauses. The image is displayed on a 1.03″ AMOLED screen, viewed through an eyepiece with 30 mm eye relief and -6 to +6 diopter adjustment. Seven colour palettes are available: White Hot, Black Hot, Amber Sepia, Red Hot, Iron Red, Blue Hot and Green Hot.

The integrated laser rangefinder measures distances up to 1200 m, helping hunters judge the distance to game before moving closer or taking a shot. Observations can be recorded as photos or videos with audio via the built-in microphone and stored on 64 GB of internal memory.

Despite the larger lens, the TK650L 3.0 weighs 593 g including the battery and measures 191×67×79 mm, so it remains comfortable to carry for a full night. Power comes from a replaceable dedicated battery with up to 5.5 hours of operating time, and two batteries are included. The IP67 housing and operating range of -20 °C to +50 °C allow use in rain, dust and cold weather. Bluetooth enables pairing with the optional remote control.
