DD Optics Kolibri 10x33 Gen 3 Product description

  • Compact 10x reach: The 10x magnification brings distant birds, wildlife and landscape details closer while the 33 mm format keeps the binocular easy to pack for travel, hiking and everyday field use.
  • Schmidt-Pechan roof prisms: This prism design helps keep the body slim and portable while supporting the bright, high-contrast image needed for scanning woodland edges, open fields and coastal viewpoints.
  • 106 m field of view at 1000 m: A useful balance of reach and overview makes it easier to follow moving subjects and stay oriented when glassing mixed terrain.
  • 16 mm eye relief with metal eyecups: The eyepiece design gives a more comfortable viewing position, including for many eyeglass wearers, and helps reduce fatigue during longer observation sessions.
  • Nitrogen-filled weatherproof housing: Waterproof and fogproof construction supports reliable use in rain, damp mornings and changing temperatures, so the binocular stays ready for field conditions.

About the DD Optics Kolibri Series

The DD Optics Kolibri series is built as a compact, travel-friendly binocular family for users who want practical field performance without moving to a full-size body. DDoptics currently offers the line in 25 mm, 33 mm and 42 mm formats with both 8x and 10x magnification, giving the series a broad role across travel, hiking, birdwatching and general wildlife observation. In the manufacturer’s range, Kolibri sits as a lightweight all-round option for people who value low bulk and easy handling.

Across the series, DDoptics uses Schmidt-Pechan prisms and HDX-FMC lens coatings to support a clear, contrast-rich image in a compact roof-prism layout. The binoculars combine polycarbonate housings, metal eyecups and internal focusing, which keeps operation straightforward while helping control weight. Generation 3 models are also waterproof, nitrogen-filled and fitted with RNP-coated outer lenses, features that matter in changeable weather and frequent outdoor use. The result is a binocular line designed around portability, practical durability and versatile viewing rather than specialist bulk.

About the DD Optics Kolibri 10x33 Gen 3

The DD Optics Kolibri 10x33 Gen 3 is the longer-reaching compact model in the mid-size Kolibri format. Its 10.00 x magnification suits birdwatchers, hunters and outdoor users who need more detail on distant subjects than an 8x binocular typically provides, while the 33.00 mm objective keeps the instrument noticeably lighter and easier to carry than a larger 42 mm class binocular. At 443.00 g and just 130.00 mm long, it works well as a day-long companion for travel, hill walking and mobile observation.

The optical layout combines Roof - Schmidt/Pechan prisms with a 3.30 mm exit pupil, giving the binocular a practical balance between image brightness, compact dimensions and steady daytime performance. A 106.00 m/1000m field of view is wide enough to track moving wildlife and scan varied terrain without feeling overly narrow for a 10x model. The 16.00 mm eye relief helps maintain viewing comfort, and the right-eyepiece diopter adjustment with a +3 / -3 range allows the image to be tuned to the user’s eyesight.

Mechanically, the single-hinge body and central focusing system keep handling simple and secure. The polycarbonate housing reduces carry weight, while nitrogen filling and weatherproof construction support dependable use in damp, cold or rapidly changing conditions. A 3.50 m close focus also broadens the binocular’s use beyond distant observation, making it suitable for closer study of birds, insects and vegetation on the trail.
