Vortex 45 Degree Red Dot Mount

• 45-degree offset position: Places a secondary sight or accessory at an angled position for faster transitions between a magnified optic and close-range aiming solutions.
• 1913 Mil-Spec rail compatibility: Mounts to standard Picatinny rails, making it easy to integrate into a wide range of rifle setups without special adapters.
• Machined aluminum construction: Keeps the mount light on the rifle while providing the rigidity needed to hold accessories securely under regular field and range use.
• Multi-accessory use: Works with a red dot sight, laser, flashlight, sling, or open sights, giving the shooter more flexibility when configuring a practical carbine or hunting rifle.
• Compact, low-mass design: At 50.00 g, it adds useful mounting capability without noticeably upsetting rifle balance or making the front end feel heavy.

About the Vortex Accessories Series

Vortex Accessories covers the supporting hardware that helps shooters tailor an optic setup to a specific rifle, discipline, or field problem. Within the broader Vortex lineup, this series sits alongside the company’s riflescopes and red dots as the practical interface between optic and firearm. It includes items such as throw levers, bubble levels, covers, flip caps, and sunshades, all intended to improve usability rather than change the core optic itself.

The series reflects a straightforward design approach: add function where it matters, keep installation simple, and avoid unnecessary bulk. In use, that means accessories that help with faster magnification changes, better rifle leveling, lens protection, or more adaptable sight placement. For shooters building hunting optics or tactical optics setups, the Vortex Accessories range provides the small but important components that make a rifle easier to run under time pressure or in changing terrain. The result is a family of products focused on fit, compatibility, and practical handling rather than cosmetic add-ons.

About the Vortex 45 Degree Red Dot Mount

The Vortex 45 Degree Red Dot Mount is built for shooters who want a faster secondary aiming option without giving up their primary optic. By positioning an accessory at a 45-degree offset, it allows a quick roll of the rifle to bring a red dot into view for close targets while leaving the main sighting system in place for longer shots. That makes it especially useful on rifles set up with magnified optics, where target distance can change faster than there is time to adjust magnification.

This mount is not limited to red dots alone. Vortex also rates it for use with a laser, flashlight, sling, or open sights, which makes it a flexible mounting solution for carbines and practical field rifles. The ability to place an accessory off the main top rail can help free space for the primary optic and keep the rifle better organized.

The body is made from aluminium, giving the mount the stiffness needed for secure attachment while keeping overall weight to 50.00 g. That low mass matters on a working rifle, because it adds capability without making the setup feel front-heavy or cumbersome during movement. Finished in black, the mount fits naturally into modern rifle builds and is intended as a durable, compact accessory for shooters who need fast transitions and efficient rail use.

About Vortex

Vortex traces its roots to a Wild Birds Unlimited store opened by the Hamilton family in Madison, Wisconsin, in 1986. The brand entered the sport optics market in 2002 and has since focused on optics for hunting, shooting, and outdoor use. Its catalog spans riflescopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, laser rangefinders, and red dots, giving the company a broad presence across both observation and aiming equipment.

Headquartered in Barneveld, Wisconsin, Vortex is employee-owned and operated. The company also develops supporting technologies such as ballistic tools powered by GeoBallistics, showing a focus that extends beyond glass alone into practical shooting solutions. In recent years, Vortex has also taken on defense-related work, including selection in 2022 to produce and deliver fire-control systems for the U.S. Army’s Next Generation Squad Weapons program.
