ABOUT THE MODEL (KAHLES K1050 10–50×56)

The Kahles K1050 10–50×56 is a specialized riflescope built for benchrest and long-range precision shooting. With its extreme 10–50× magnification range, the scope is ideal for competition disciplines where the smallest adjustments and clearest image detail make all the difference. The 56 mm objective ensures excellent brightness, even at the highest magnifications, while the ultra-precise parallax adjustment down to 8 meters provides unmatched focus control.

The K1050 is built with a centrally mounted parallax wheel, integrated into the elevation turret, allowing for intuitive adjustments during shooting. Its large, tactile turrets offer precise and repeatable tracking, essential for scoring hits at long distances. The scope is available with fine reticles in the second focal plane (such as the MOAK or Mil models), allowing for accurate holdovers and minimal target coverage.

This model is designed without compromise, offering the optical and mechanical precision required for world-class performance in demanding target shooting disciplines.

I don’t remember how to change my zero stop on my k1050 . I’m shooting a different bullet and my zero is about 1and 1/2 moa below zero.

by Abraham

Dear Sir!

To adjust the zero stop (or more precisely, re-zero the elevation turret) on your Kahles K1050 10-50x56 scope after switching bullets, you'll need to first confirm your new mechanical zero by sighting in at your desired range and distance. Once that's done, the process involves loosening the elevation turret's set screws, rotating it to align the zero mark with the indicator, and re-tightening. This repositions the turret so your new zero reads "0" on the dial, while the built-in mechanical stop remains about 3-4 clicks below for flexibility (e.g., for temperature changes or closer targets). Your 1.5 MOA shift is common with bullet changes and can be accounted for during sighting in.

If your current zero (with the new ammunition) is under your current zero setting, loosen the screws and turn the turret half a turn in the opposite direction. Then tighten the screws back in and continue with the zeroing process.

Tools Needed

- The Allen key supplied with your scope (use the short end for tightening set screws).

Warnings

- Always ensure your rifle is unloaded and safe before starting.
- Never use excessive force on the turrets or set screws—loosen only 1-3 turns; do not remove the screws completely.
- Tighten set screws to no more than 1 Nm (8 inch-pounds) to avoid damage.
- If you're not comfortable with this, consult a professional gunsmith.
- After adjustment, re-verify your zero at the range.

Step-by-Step Instructions to Re-Zero the Elevation Turret

1. With the rifle sighted in to your new zero point of impact (accounting for the 1.5 MOA shift), use the supplied Allen key to loosen the two set screws on the elevation turret 1-3 turns. This should allow the turret to move freely without clicks—do not force it.
2. Rotate the elevation turret in the "down" direction (follow the engraved arrow for bullet impact direction) until the "0" mark on the dial aligns precisely with the indicator mark on the scope body.
3. Using the short end of the Allen key, tighten the two set screws to approximately 1 Nm (8 inch-pounds). Do not exceed this torque.
4. Your elevation turret is now re-zeroed to the new position. The mechanical stop will still be 3-4 clicks below zero for minor adjustments if needed.

Test-fire to confirm everything tracks correctly. If you need to adjust windage similarly or center the turrets mechanically first (e.g., for a full reset), let me know for those steps!

Hi, I am very interested in knowing what level the sightron svss 10-50 ED is at with respect to the Kahles K1050 10-50x56 crosshair.

I am interested in knowing which of the two scopes is less obscured at maximum magnification, among other important advantages that one might have over the other.

I currently need to purchase a scope with variable magnification with crosshair or mildot reticle, and I am debating between these two options. I own a Sightron SIII 45X45 Competition ED and a Sightron SVIII 5-40 ED (FPF) riflescope. I am very happy with the image quality of both. The clarity of the SVIII is superior to the SIII. I need to know if the image quality and eye relief of the Sightron SVSS at its highest magnification is superior to the SIII 45X45.

I would appreciate your comments so that I don't make a mistake in my purchase. I am currently dabbling in the F-CLASS discipline in .308 caliber and would like to use the scope for that modality.

Thanks in advance and I remain attentive.

Dear Sir!

The scope your are comparing a quite different and especially in terms of weight. Kahles K1050 is a much lighter scope and thus more suitable if your are searching for as light scope as possible. Their direct competitiors are more scopes like March 10-60x52 and Nightforce Competition 15-55x52.

Usually these 3 scopes are used in F-class TR discipline where the setups have to be lighter than 8.25kg.

Sightron SVSS on the other hand is much heavier, has bigger elevation and it is optically superior.

And yes, In our expiriances SVSS is superior to SIII 45x45 ED in terms of optical performance. Even though the 45x45 is a great scope on itself.

If you're buying optics for painting, you can buy something similar for much less money, but if you need a scope for serious use, don't think too much about this product, it's hard to beat, but think about the weapon you're going to put this on so that the effect is complete.
Personally, this would be for closer (up to 500m) used with .338, and for further with .50
If you have a steady hand, the hit is guaranteed

Great resolution, narrow field of view

The scope has superb resolution at all magnifications and wonderful parallax adjustment system. The best parallax I have seen, since I am a lefty.

The scope is well made and has nice finish in small details. The only downside is the narrow field of view, which is however not a big disadvantage when shooting on targets. But in this regard it is still like watching through a Nightforce and not a S&B...

High end Kahles

I have been using this scope on my 6mm Norma BR rifle for the last 2 years and have great results with it on 100, 300 and 600 meters. I have won several competitions with it in the last year and really like the resolution at high magnification.

The only small disadvantage I can see is a bit smaller field of view compared to 12-50x56 PM II and smaller elevation range.
