IOR Crusader 5.8-40x56

• 5.8-40x magnification range: This wide zoom span lets the scope cover precise target work at long distance while still giving enough flexibility for spotting and shot placement at lower settings.
• 56 mm objective lens: The large front lens supports a bright, high-contrast image, which helps when reading mirage, separating targets from the background, and shooting in difficult light.
• 40 mm main tube: The oversized tube gives the Crusader a robust tactical layout and supports generous internal adjustment for dialing at extended range.
• Objective-side parallax from 7m to infinity: Close-focus capability and full long-range adjustment help keep the target and reticle on the same focal plane for more precise aiming across varied distances.
• Tactical turret system with illumination: The combination of dialing capability and a red illuminated reticle supports accurate corrections in competition or field shooting when target contrast changes.

About the IOR Crusader Series

The IOR Crusader series sits in the brand’s modern high-magnification riflescope range and is built around long-range shooting applications. Current Crusader models include the 5.8-40x56 and the Crusader 2.0 5-40x56, with the line spanning sport-shooting use and long-range hunting roles depending on the model. Within IOR’s catalog, the series stands out for combining very high top-end magnification with a 40 mm main tube, illuminated reticle options, and a compact mechanical layout intended for serious precision work.

Crusader riflescopes are designed for shooters who need enough magnification to refine aiming at distance, read target detail, and make precise corrections. The series is associated with first focal plane configurations in IOR’s catalog, which suits holdover and ranging work because the reticle scale remains consistent throughout the zoom range. The overall design philosophy favors practical field use rather than oversized benchrest-only optics: strong internal adjustment, durable construction, and optical performance aimed at maintaining contrast and target definition at high power. That makes the Crusader family a natural fit for tactical rifles, precision sport rifles, and other setups used for deliberate shooting at medium to long range.

About the IOR Crusader 5.8-40x56

The IOR Crusader 5.8-40x56 is a high-magnification tactical riflescope built for sport shooting and field use, especially where precise shot placement at extended distance matters. Its 5.8-40x zoom range gives the shooter room to work across very different stages and target sizes: the lower end is useful for finding and centering the target more quickly, while the upper end helps with fine aiming, spotting impacts, and reading small details at long range. Paired with a 56 mm objective lens and fully multicoated optics, the scope is configured to preserve image brightness and contrast when magnification climbs, which is exactly where many high-power optics become harder to use.

The mechanical layout supports precision shooting just as clearly. A 40 mm tube and tactical turrets provide the adjustment range needed for dialing elevation and windage, with up to 29.00 mrad of travel in both directions according to the specification set. The illuminated SHX reticle with red illumination helps maintain a clear aiming reference when the target background is dark or visually busy. Parallax adjustment from 7m to infinity adds real versatility, allowing the scope to be focused for everything from close precision work to distant targets while reducing aiming error caused by reticle shift.

In use, the Crusader 5.8-40x56 balances high-power optical capability with a practical shooting format. Its 99.00 mm eye relief supports stable head position behind heavier-recoiling rifles, while the 410.00 mm body gives ample mounting space for long-action and precision rifle setups. Nitrogen filling, waterproofing, fogproof construction, and shockproof build all reinforce its role as a serious long-range riflescope rather than a range-only optic.

About IOR

IOR is a Romanian optics manufacturer headquartered in Bucharest and was founded in 1936. The company has long worked across both civilian and military optics, producing riflescopes for hunting and sport shooting as well as optical equipment for infantry, artillery, and armored vehicles. Its broader infantry portfolio also includes night-vision equipment, which reflects a deep specialization in rugged sighting systems rather than consumer optics alone.

In the sporting optics segment, IOR is known for tactical riflescopes and reflex sights, with an emphasis on robust mechanical construction and high-magnification designs. The company states that its riflescopes use German Schott glass, and it also identifies itself as an early developer of riflescopes with 35 mm and 40 mm main tubes. IOR further highlights its work on 6×, 7×, 8×, and 10× zoom riflescopes with parallax adjustment on the central tube, underlining a long-standing focus on precision-oriented optical design.
