Extended 7× Zoom in a Compact Body: The 3–20×50 PM II Ultra Short delivers a wide 3–20× magnification range with the same optical quality as the standard model, but in a body that’s approximately 4 cm shorter—ideal for DMR applications on short rails.
Bright 50 mm Objective: Offers excellent light transmission and a large exit pupil, maintaining clarity from dawn to dusk under diverse field conditions.
Low-Profile Tactical Turrets: Features a 35 mrad low-profile elevation turret and capped windage turret—compact and snag-free for use with red-dot co-witness setups.
First Focal Plane Illuminated Reticle & Side Parallax: Includes popular reticle options (e.g., Tremor3, P4, MSR2) in the FFP with illumination—from NV to daylight—and side-focus parallax from 25 m to ∞.

ABOUT THE PM II ULTRA SHORT SERIES

The Ultra Short variants preserve all optical and rugged mechanical qualities of the classic PM II lineup while offering a more compact form factor (length similar to the 3–12×50 PM II), making them ideal for DMR, semi-auto platforms, and dual-optic configurations.

ABOUT THE MODEL (3–20×50 PM II ULTRA SHORT)

This model keeps the same high-quality glass, edge-to-edge sharpness, and optical transmission as the standard PM II but in a reduced length. It includes a robust diopter adjustment and illuminated Tremor3 reticle praised for minimal chromatic aberration.

Its side-focus and illumination controls are accessible without obstructing the field of view, and the parallax turret is easy to operate under pressure.

ULTRA SHORT VS STANDARD PM II

Tubing & Turrets: Ultra Short uses a 35 mrad low-profile elevation turret and capped windage, while the standard model has a taller 26 mrad MTC turret and exposed windage turret.
Size & Handling: Ultra Short is 4 cm shorter (approx. 343 mm vs 382 mm) and lighter (approx. 920 g vs 1,011 g), enhancing balance and compatibility with compact rifle platforms.
Optical & Illuminated Performance: Both share identical optical quality, side-focus parallax, and first focal plane illuminated reticles. Differences lie in turret design and form factor.

The scope will not adjust. I have tried with the Allen screws out and tight and cannot get it to move up, down or right left. What am I doing wrong? This is my first Schmidt and Bender scope. 3x20x50 PM II Ultra Short.

Not short at all but still great

I was convinced my self that I need a small and short tactical scope. A month of deciding between 5-20x50 PM US and 3-20x50 PM US followed and I opted for the 3-20x50. Optics Trade was professional and communication was great, which meant that I got all excited when the scope arrived. Then shocked how long it is :( This is no "Short" scope but the overall quality calmed me down at the end. I really like using it, however now I also know that the next scope will be 5-20x50 PM Ultra Short.

An excellent scope

This is is not as compact as the first in this range but offers easier mounting without custom rings and superior optics. A great Schmidt and Bender product. Unfortunately I did encounter an issue with mine whereby the objective lens retainer ring was cross threaded. The customer care from Schmidt and Bender was excellent, arranging collection of the scope via DPD and turning the repair around very fast.
