The Kentucky Long 3-18x50 offers an excellent balance between magnification range, optical performance, and overall versatility. Compared to the more compact 2-12x44 model, the 3-18x50 provides increased top-end magnification and a larger objective lens for improved precision and low-light performance at extended distances.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

Swampfox Kentucky Long 3-18x50 features a rugged aircraft-grade aluminum housing designed to withstand heavy recoil and demanding environmental conditions. The riflescope is waterproof, fogproof, and shock resistant, making it suitable for precision rifles, DMR platforms, and hunting rifles used in difficult field environments.

The optic utilizes push/pull locking turrets with zero-reset functionality. This system allows the shooter to securely lock turret positions during transport or field use while still enabling quick and repeatable elevation and windage corrections.

An adjustable side-focus parallax system allows fine image correction from 10 yards to infinity, helping maintain image sharpness and target detail across the full magnification range.

The riflescope includes interchangeable low-profile and high-profile magnification fins that can be mounted directly onto the magnification ring, allowing the shooter to customize magnification handling without requiring aftermarket throw levers.

The illuminated reticle system is powered by a side-mounted CR2032 battery and offers tactile brightness adjustment controls.

OPTICAL PROPERTIES

The 3-18x magnification range provides strong versatility for precision shooting and tactical applications. Lower magnification settings allow faster target acquisition and improved situational awareness, while 18x magnification offers detailed target observation and improved shot placement at longer distances.

The reticle is positioned in the first focal plane, meaning the reticle scales proportionally with magnification. This ensures that ranging features, holdovers, and ballistic references remain accurate throughout the entire zoom range.

The riflescope is equipped with the Sharpshooter MIL reticle, specifically designed for precise holdovers, ranging, and windage/elevation corrections using the MIL system. The reticle is paired with 0.1 MIL-per-click tactical adjustments.

The illuminated etched reticle system features 11 brightness settings and improves visibility during low-light shooting conditions.

The optical system provides excellent edge-to-edge clarity throughout the entire magnification range. The lenses are fully multi-coated and feature anti-fog, anti-scratch, and hydrophobic coatings that reduce glare while improving durability and image quality in difficult weather conditions.
