Steiner Micro Pistol Sight Compact (MPS-C)

• Ultra-compact enclosed design: The slim housing and low profile sit naturally on modern slide-mounted pistols, reducing bulk and helping the gun track flatter during fast strings and rapid target transitions.
• 1.6 MOA red dot: The fine dot gives a precise aiming point for tighter shot placement while still being quick to pick up at speed, making it well suited to practical shooting and everyday carry-sized handguns.
• 32 g weight: Keeping the optic exceptionally light reduces added slide mass, which helps preserve pistol balance and can improve recovery between shots.
• 13,000-hour battery life: Long runtime on a CR1632 battery cuts down on maintenance intervals and supports a ready-to-use setup for regular training, competition, or defensive use.
• Sealed, all-weather construction: Waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof construction protects the emitter and electronics from moisture, debris, and repeated recoil, supporting reliable use in hard field conditions.

About the Steiner Reflex Sights Series

Steiner Reflex Sights cover the company’s compact red-dot line for fast, instinctive aiming, and the current family includes the MPS, MPS 2.0, and MPS-C. Within Steiner’s lineup, this series serves shooters who want the speed advantages of a true 1x reflex sight in formats suited to pistols and other compact weapon platforms. The range is built around rapid target acquisition, both-eyes-open shooting, and durable construction that can stand up to regular recoil and hard use.

A defining trait of the series is its emphasis on practical mounting formats and application-specific designs. The original MPS is a pistol sight built around the Aimpoint ACRO footprint and uses an enclosed emitter with an all-metal housing, while the MPS 2.0 is positioned for duty, personal defense, competition, and everyday carry, with dot-size options that let users choose between faster visual pickup or a finer aiming point. Across the family, Steiner’s reflex sights focus on compact dimensions, straightforward controls, and rugged mechanical design, giving handgun shooters a red-dot platform that prioritizes speed, durability, and consistent handling.

About the Steiner Micro Pistol Sight Compact (MPS-C)

The Steiner Micro Pistol Sight Compact (MPS-C) is the smallest and lightest expression of the MPS concept, built specifically for slimline and subcompact pistols. Its Shield RMS-C footprint and very low-profile form make it a natural fit for compact slide-mounted setups where size, balance, and reciprocating mass matter. At only 32.00 g, it adds less weight to the slide than many enclosed pistol dots, which helps preserve handling and can shorten recovery time between shots. That makes the MPS-C especially relevant for fast practical shooting, backup or carry pistols, and any setup where a compact optic must not overwhelm the gun.

The sight uses a 1.60 MOA illuminated dot, giving a finer aiming reference than many pistol red dots. In practice, that helps when shooting smaller targets, refining hold at distance, or working for cleaner hits without giving up the speed advantage of a true 1x reflex sight. Manual brightness adjustment via push buttons lets the shooter tune dot intensity to ambient light, while the daytime-visible illumination keeps the aiming point clear in bright outdoor conditions. The 20x16 mm window offers a practical viewing area for quick dot pickup without making the housing unnecessarily large.

Mechanically, the MPS-C is designed for repeatable zeroing and dependable field use. 1 MOA click adjustments allow straightforward sight-in, and the 50.00 MOA windage and elevation range gives enough correction latitude for common pistol mounting setups. Its waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof construction protects the enclosed optical system against weather, fouling, and recoil stress, while the 13,000.00 h battery life on a CR1632 supports long service intervals. The operating range of -40°C to 60°C further underlines that this compact red dot is built for serious use rather than occasional range sessions.

About Steiner

Steiner was founded by Karl Steiner in 1947 in Bayreuth, Germany, where the company is still headquartered. The brand is known for optics used in hunting, water sports, outdoor, defense, and law-enforcement applications, and its product range includes binoculars, riflescopes, and thermal-imaging devices. This broad background is relevant to Steiner red dots because the company’s design approach has long centered on field durability, dependable optical performance, and practical handling in demanding environments.

Over the decades, Steiner introduced several notable developments, including nitrogen-filled binoculars in 1973 to reduce internal fogging during temperature changes and an integrated-compass binocular in 1979 that established the Commander marine line. In 2000, the company introduced its Nighthunter concept for hunting optics, further strengthening its reputation in low-light sporting use. Since August 2008, Steiner has been part of Beretta Holding, linking the brand to a larger group with strong roots in sporting, tactical, and defense equipment.
