Hello!

Yes, the Shield Sights SMS red dot sight (which uses the Shield RMS footprint) can be mounted on the HS Echelon pistol. The Echelon has a Variable Interface System (VIS) on its slide that directly supports the Shield RMS footprint, along with the Trijicon RMR and Leupold DeltaPoint Pro sights, allowing for low-profile mounting without adapter plates. This system uses adjustable self-locking pins to securely align with the optic footprint.

To mount:
- Remove the rear sight if necessary (although VIS usually allows for direct mounting to the slide).
- Align the SMS with the Shield RMS pins on the VIS.
- Attach with the screws provided (make sure they are the correct length, typically M4 with a button head of about 8mm with washers for proper placement).

No modifications to the firearm are required, and the setup provides an intuitive sight picture. If your Echelon model does not have an optics-ready slide, you will need post-milling, but factory versions come equipped with it as standard.

Shield SMS has a Shield RMS/SMS footprint, so it will not fit directly on an RMR cut. a Converter plate is needed.

I have the Equalizer 9mm- Trying to figure out what my foot print is RMS or SMS? I want a direct fit no adapter plates. Does the EZ S&W use the same foot print as my Equalizer?

According to the manual of the Equalizer, there is mulitple holes under the optic plate for different mounting solutions but does not specify which ones. The pistol does not come with any mounting plates, therefore the suitable red dot can be mounted directly. Please be so kind and send a picture of the footprint, so we can assist you further.

The Equalizer has an optic footprint already milled into the slide. The footprint is compatible with all optics that use an RMSc footprint as well as Holosun K series optics (407K, 507K, EPS, EPS Carry) without any need for aftermarket optic adapter plates.

No, you won't need an adapter palte. If both surfacesa are Shield standards, then you will be able to mount the red dot without an adapter plate.

Hi! I have serious doubts if Shield SMS which is 42mm in length would for on a Glock 43X MOS. The most common of Shield optics seen in use on Glock 43X MOS is Shield RMSC which is 40 mm in length.. Can you please confirm if Shield SMS is drop in with a Glock 43X MOS?

It would fit, however it is not as slim as the RMSc version. Therefore the sides of the red dot sight will not ergonomically fit the housing of the handgun.

You are unable to turn off the SMS model manually. When the included cover is installed on the red dot sight, the dot is actually turned off.

Are you aware of any custom's duty on shipping to USA? Can you explain the different dot sizes. This would be for the Hellcat Springfield Armory Hellcat Micro-Compact Pistol OSP and I thought the 8 MOA would be the proper model. The 1 MOA with 65MOA ring has me confused.

Please check the potential fees of your purchase with your local customs office.

For a handgun, we would recommend an 8 MOA dot. 1 MOA red dot is also surrounded by a 65 MOA circle and is not a viable option for your configuration.

If not, you will need to procure an appropriate Shield Sights adapter for Canik handgun.

Am shooting IPSC in Australia, generally bright sunny conditions. Does a higher MOA give a larger red dot? Also what is difference between red dot and rectile sight. Can you recommend a pistol sight that best enables quick target acqciusition. Thank You.

The higher the MOA value, the bigger the dot. Keep in mind that smaller dot values are suitable for rifles while higher MOA values (bigger dots) are used on handguns.

You can choose this particular product only with a red dot in the center, or with a red dot in the center and the 65 MOA circle around it.

A product which you are referring to is perfect for fast-target acquisition, however, please note that we don't have it in stock at this moment.

One of the best alternatives are the Noblex Sight C and Vortex Venom red dot sights.
