March-FX 5-42x56 High Master

• 5-42x magnification range: This unusually wide zoom span lets one riflescope cover load development, target work, long-range competition and hunting, so there is less need to switch optics between roles.
• High Master optical system: Super ED and high-refractive-index lens elements help control aberration and shimmer, which makes fine target detail easier to resolve at high magnification.
• First focal plane illuminated reticle: The reticle keeps its subtensions accurate throughout the zoom range, giving consistent holdovers and ranging references whether shooting closer in or stretching to distance.
• Locking tactical turrets with Zero Stop: The exposed turrets are built for repeatable dialing, while the lock and stop features help prevent accidental movement and make a fast return to zero more certain under match or field pressure.
• Side focus from 10 m to infinity: Close parallax adjustment broadens the scope’s usefulness for precision practice and rimfire-style distance work, while still supporting centerfire shooting at extended range.

About the March FX Series

March FX is a current riflescope family from March that sits in the brand’s premium variable-power lineup for shooters who want broad magnification range, compact mechanical design and precise reticle-based shooting. In this series, March combines a 34 mm main tube with a first focal plane reticle, making the scopes especially relevant for long-range competition, practical precision shooting and hunting where hold values must remain consistent as magnification changes.

The range includes models from low-power tactical optics up to high-magnification long-range designs, with the 5-42x56mm version aimed at long-range shooters, competition shooters and hunters. Within the series, the High Master variant stands out for its Super ED lenses and 26-degree wide-angle eyepiece, a combination intended to improve image control at high power while keeping the sight picture more usable. March FX scopes are known for giving advanced shooters a great deal of elevation travel, practical turret layouts and optical designs that prioritize precise aiming rather than bulk. That makes the series a strong fit for rifles built for distance, where repeatable adjustments, a usable field of view and clear reticle behavior matter as much as raw magnification.

About the March-FX 5-42x56 High Master

The March-FX 5-42x56 High Master is built for shooters who need one optic to span a very wide set of distances without giving up precise reticle use. Its 5-42x magnification range is unusually broad, so the scope remains practical for locating targets and reading conditions at lower power, then transitions into very high magnification for exact shot placement, spotting trace or evaluating small target details. Paired with a 56 mm objective lens, it is configured for serious long-range work where image brightness and detail matter.

This model uses a first focal plane reticle, which keeps holdover and wind references in proportion across the zoom range. In practice, that means the shooter can dial down for a wider view or dial up for precision without changing how the reticle’s subtensions work. The illuminated red center support helps the aiming point stand out against dark targets or low-contrast backgrounds, while the fine 0.10 MOA dot supports careful shot placement.

Mechanically, the scope is set up like a true tactical optic. The locking tactical turrets are intended for regular dialing, the Zero Stop simplifies returning to a known zero, and the multi-turn elevation system gives the travel needed for extended-range cartridges. Side focus adjustment from 10 m to infinity adds flexibility for close-range precision practice as well as centerfire use at distance. With a 34 mm tube, argon filling, waterproof, fogproof and shockproof construction, and a weight of 950 g, this March riflescope is aimed at rifles where tracking precision and optical control take priority over minimal carry weight.

About March

March is the riflescope brand of DEON Optical Design Corporation, a Japanese company established in 2004 and headquartered in Chino, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. DEON designs and manufactures custom rifle scopes, and March products are assembled in Japan using Japanese-made components. The company first introduced its March 40×52 mm benchrest scope in 2007, then expanded the range into lines such as March-FX, March-X, Genesis and High Master.

Within this category, DEON is particularly known for pursuing specialized optical designs for precision shooting rather than a broad general sporting catalog. Its relevant technologies include the High Master lens system, which uses Super ED and high-refractive-index lens elements, and the external adjustment concept used in the Genesis line. That background gives March a strong reputation among shooters looking for Japanese-made tactical optics with unusual magnification ranges, detailed reticle options and competition-oriented mechanical features.
