Guide TU650S Product description

  • 640×512 High-Sensitivity Detector (15 mK NETD): The 12 μm pixel pitch detector paired with a fast 50 mm, F0.9 lens delivers a low Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference of 15 mK, producing sharp, low-noise thermal images with fine detail even in complete darkness.
  • 50 mm, F0.9 Lens for Long-Range Detection: The largest objective lens in the TU 3.0 lineup extends the detection range to 2600 m / 2800 yd, the longest of any TU 3.0 model, useful for engaging targets at extended distance.
  • 1.03" AMOLED Display (2560×2560): The larger, higher-resolution display renders more detail and contrast than the 0.49" screen used on the compact TU 3.0 models, making it easier to identify targets at long range.
  • 14-Hour Runtime on Dual Built-In Batteries: Two internal 18650 batteries, combined with a further external, replaceable 18650 battery, extend operating time well beyond the compact TU 3.0 models, supporting longer sessions in the field.
  • Ballistic Calculation via TargetIR APP: Connecting the scope to the companion app enables ballistic calculation alongside OTA firmware upgrades, giving the shooter a holdover reference without carrying a separate ballistic calculator.

ABOUT THE TU 3.0 SERIES

The TU 3.0 Series is Guide's line of thermal imaging riflescopes, built around a shutterless imaging architecture, modular design, and AI-assisted image processing. The series is aimed at hunters, law enforcement, and other professional users who need a dependable thermal riflescope for night hunting, search and rescue, and personal security applications. It spans models built around a 400×300 detector paired with a 35 mm lens up to a 640×512 detector paired with a 50 mm lens, giving users a choice between a lighter, more compact riflescope and one built for longer detection range.

Scopes in the series share a common design approach: an uncooled VOx infrared detector with a fast F0.9 objective lens, processed through Guide's ApexVision imaging system, a centrally positioned focus wheel and zoom lever for fast one-handed adjustment, and a rugged, IP68-rated housing rated to 6000J of shock resistance, allowing the scope to withstand the recoil of hard-hitting hunting calibers as well as rough handling in the field.

Dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz/5 GHz) connects the scope to the TargetIR APP, which supports over-the-air firmware upgrades and ballistic calculation, giving the shooter a reference for holdover in addition to thermal observation. Photo and video recording with synchronized audio, seven selectable color palettes (White Hot, Black Hot, Red Hot, Green Hot, Iron Red, Blue Hot, and Sepia), and an operating range of -20°C to 50°C round out a feature set aimed at reliable, all-weather field use.

ABOUT THE MODEL (GUIDE TU650S)

The Guide TU650S is the top-of-line model in the TU 3.0 lineup, pairing the series' 640×512 uncooled VOx infrared detector with a 50 mm, F0.9 objective lens — the largest lens offered in the series. This combination pushes the detection range to 2600 m / 2800 yd, the longest of any TU 3.0 model, at the cost of a larger and heavier housing than the compact 35 mm-lens TU435S and TU635S.

The 50 mm lens narrows the field of view to 8.8° × 7.0° (15×12 m at 100 m) and provides a 3.7x–29.6x magnification range, which suits long-range engagement of open terrain, agricultural fields, or distant ridgelines where identifying a target further away matters more than a wide scanning angle. Manual focus allows precise adjustment as the target distance changes.

The scope uses Guide's 3.0 shutterless imaging architecture, which keeps the sight picture uninterrupted during normal shooting rather than freezing periodically for shutter-based calibration; a shutter module is retained specifically to preserve image quality at startup and during significant temperature changes. Images are shown on a larger 1.03" AMOLED display with 2560×2560 resolution and a 60 mm eye relief, with seven selectable color palettes (White Hot, Black Hot, Red Hot, Green Hot, Iron Red, Blue Hot, and Sepia). A -5 to +5 diopter adjustment and the generous eye relief allow the scope to be set up safely behind hard-recoiling rifles, and the standard 30 mm tube diameter is compatible with commonly available scope rings and mounts; a quick-release scope mount and eye mask are included.

Photo and video capture with synchronized audio is backed by 256 GB of internal storage, and dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz/5 GHz) connects the scope to the TargetIR APP for OTA firmware upgrades and ballistic calculation, while a built-in microphone and Bluetooth support additional connectivity. Power comes from two built-in 18650 batteries combined with a further external, replaceable 18650 battery, together providing up to 14 hours of operating time — notably longer than the compact TU435S and TU635S. Weighing 921 g and measuring 421×89×80 mm, the IP68-rated housing with 6000J shock resistance and an operating range of -20°C to 50°C make the TU650S a dependable choice for hunters and professional users who prioritize maximum detection range and runtime over compact size.
