Meprolight HVS for Kimber Micro, front sight

• Self-Illuminated Tritium: The front sight stays visible in low light and darkness without batteries, giving the shooter a consistent aiming reference for defensive carry and night use.
• High-Visibility Front Sight: As part of the Meprolight HVS family, this front sight is built to draw the eye quickly, helping faster sight acquisition when speed matters at close handgun distances.
• Steel Construction: The all-steel body stands up to daily holster wear, recoil, and hard use better than softer materials, making it a practical choice for a carry pistol.
• Fixed-Sight Simplicity: A fixed front sight keeps the setup straightforward and durable, with no adjustment controls to snag or shift during regular carry.
• Kimber Micro Fit: Built specifically for the Kimber Micro platform, this front sight suits shooters who want a dedicated replacement part rather than a universal compromise.

About the Meprolight HVS Series

The Meprolight HVS series, later renamed Hyper-Bright, was developed as a family of high-visibility pistol sights for shooters who need a clear sight picture in both daylight and low-light conditions. Introduced as part of Meprolight’s handgun sight range and shown in this form around the 2020 SHOT Show period, the series focuses on fast front-sight pickup and dependable self-illumination without relying on batteries.

Built around steel sight bodies and tritium illumination, the HVS design is intended for practical defensive pistols, concealed-carry handguns, and general range use. In full sight sets, the family uses a three-dot arrangement with a U-shaped rear notch, while the front sight is designed to stand out clearly against varied backgrounds. The series has been offered for multiple handgun makes, which reflects its role as a broad pistol-sight platform rather than a niche competition design. In use, the HVS concept is simple: give the shooter a durable iron-sight system that remains visible across changing light conditions and supports quick alignment under stress.

About the Meprolight HVS for Kimber Micro, front sight

The Meprolight HVS for Kimber Micro front sight is a dedicated tritium night front sight made for shooters who want a more visible aiming point on a compact carry pistol. On a handgun such as the Kimber Micro, the front sight does most of the visual work during rapid presentation, so a bright, self-illuminated front blade can make a meaningful difference in speed and confidence when lighting is poor or mixed.

This model uses a fixed steel construction, which suits the role of a defensive or everyday-carry handgun sight. Steel resists impact, repeated recoil, and holster abrasion better than more fragile materials, while the fixed format keeps the setup simple and robust. Because the sight is self-illuminated, there is no need to manage switches or batteries; the aiming reference is always available when the pistol is drawn.

As a front-sight-only component, this version is especially relevant for users replacing a worn or damaged original part, or for those building a preferred sight combination on the Kimber Micro platform. The black finish keeps the body discreet, while the tritium element provides the low-light visibility that matters most in practical defensive use. For a compact handgun carried close to the body and used at short range, that combination of durability, constant readiness, and fast front-sight visibility is the main advantage.

About Meprolight

Meprolight was founded in 1990 as a supplier of sights and battle optics to the Israel Defense Forces. Based in Or Akiva, Israel, and operating as a division of SK Group, the company develops and manufactures optical and electro-optical sighting systems for military, law-enforcement, and civilian markets. Its work spans conventional sights, tritium night sights, reflex optics, magnified optics, night-vision systems, and thermal devices.

That background is especially relevant in the handgun-sight category, where Meprolight is known for practical, duty-oriented designs built around visibility, durability, and simple operation. The company’s product range covers pistols, rifles, shotguns, and carbines, but its self-illuminated pistol sights remain one of its most established product types. For shooters choosing iron sights for defensive carry or service use, Meprolight’s long focus on combat-oriented sighting systems is a central part of the brand’s identity.
