Leica Geovid Pro 10x42 AB+ Product description

  • Integrated laser rangefinder with ballistic output: measures out to 2950 m and combines distance data with onboard ballistic software, helping hunters make faster hold decisions without switching between separate devices.
  • 10x42 optical format: the 10x magnification gives more detail at longer distances, while the 42 mm objective lenses keep the binocular compact enough for all-day carrying in mixed terrain.
  • Perger-Porro prism system: Leica’s Porro - Perger design supports strong depth perception, high contrast, and efficient light transmission, which is especially useful when judging game in uneven light.
  • Applied Ballistics connectivity: built-in ballistic software and Bluetooth-based profile transfer make it easier to match the binocular to a rifle setup and use corrected distance data in the field.
  • Magnesium, nitrogen-filled housing: the magnesium body, waterproof construction, and fogproof nitrogen filling help the binocular stay reliable in wet weather, cold mornings, and frequent travel between environments.

About the Leica Geovid Pro Series

The Leica Geovid Pro series is Leica’s premium hunting-binocular family, built for users who want high-grade observation, laser rangefinding, and ballistic support in one instrument. Introduced first in 8x32 and 10x32 in 2022, and then expanded with 8x42, 10x42, and 8x56 models, the series sits high in Leica’s hunting-optics lineup and is aimed at hunters making decisions well beyond simple distance reading. Its defining concept is to combine binocular viewing with precise ranging and onboard ballistic calculation, reducing the need to carry separate devices.

Applied Ballistics Ultralight is a core part of the Geovid Pro platform, with an Elite upgrade available for users who need extended calculation range. Bluetooth connectivity lets ballistic profiles move from the Leica Ballistics app to the binocular, which makes the system more adaptable to different rifles and loads. Across the series, Leica offers 32 mm, 42 mm, and 56 mm configurations to suit different priorities, from lower carried weight to stronger low-light performance. The Geovid Pro line is defined by this blend of practical hunting ergonomics, premium optics, and integrated digital support rather than by optical performance alone.

About the Leica Geovid Pro 10x42 AB+

The Leica Geovid Pro 10x42 AB+ is a rangefinding binocular for hunters who need more detail at distance without moving to a larger 56 mm format. Its 10x magnification helps with identifying animals, reading terrain, and checking shot windows farther out, while the 42 mm objective lenses keep the instrument more manageable on a chest harness during long walks or mountain hunting. With a 114 m field of view at 1000 m, it still gives enough width for scanning, but its real strength is the extra image scale that 10x provides when observation matters as much as ranging.

The optical system uses Porro - Perger prisms, fully multicoated lenses, and 91% light transmission to deliver a bright, contrast-rich image with good depth impression. A 4.2 mm exit pupil and 16 mm eye relief make the binocular practical in varied light and comfortable for many eyeglass wearers. The integrated laser rangefinder reaches 2950 m, returns readings in 0.3 s, supports scan mode, and works with ballistic software, so the binocular does more than report line-of-sight distance. In use, that means quicker ranging on moving or partially obscured targets and more useful data for longer shots.

The housing is built from magnesium and filled with nitrogen for fogproof performance, with waterproof construction for field use in poor weather. The dual-hinge body keeps the shape compact, central focusing is familiar and quick to use, and the FDE finish gives this version a subdued hunting-oriented appearance. A built-in compass adds another practical navigation aid for users covering large areas.

About Leica

Leica Camera AG traces its history to 1869, when Ernst Leitz took over Carl Kellner’s Optical Institute in Wetzlar. The company remains headquartered in Wetzlar, Germany and is known for making cameras, lenses, and sports optics products. In sport optics, Leica’s range includes binoculars, spotting scopes, riflescopes, and rangefinders, with a long emphasis on combining optical precision with practical field use.

Leica’s background in binoculars goes back to 1907, and the company introduced the Trinovid line in 1958. For this product category, one of the most relevant milestones came in 1992, when Leica introduced the Geovid, described as the first binocular with an integrated rangefinder. That history matters because the Geovid Pro continues a long-running Leica approach: combining premium binocular viewing with laser distance measurement in one device for hunting and field observation.
