Discovery Optics VT-R 3-12x40 AOE

• 3-12x magnification range: Covers the practical spread from short-range stalking and rimfire use to more deliberate shooting at longer distances, so one riflescope can handle varied field distances without becoming bulky.
• Adjustable objective parallax: The objective-mounted adjustment from 10 m to inf helps keep the target and reticle on the same focal plane, which is especially useful for airgun, rimfire and close-to-mid-range shooting where parallax error is easier to notice.
• Illuminated SFP reticle: The second focal plane layout keeps the reticle visually consistent as magnification changes, while illumination helps the aiming point stand out against dark backgrounds or in fading light.
• Locking capped turrets: Capped turrets protect settings from accidental movement during transport, and the locking design adds reassurance when the scope is carried through brush or fitted to a working hunting rifle.
• Fully multicoated, nitrogen-filled construction: Fully multicoated lenses support better contrast and light transmission, while the nitrogen-filled, waterproof, fogproof and shockproof build is suited to changing weather and regular field use.

About the Discovery Optics VT-R Series

Discovery Optics VT-R is positioned as an entry-level riflescope series built for shooters who want practical magnification options and familiar hunting-scope handling without moving into heavier or more specialized tactical designs. The range was presented with several configurations, including AC, AOE, AOAC, SF and IRAC variants, covering both fixed-power and variable-power models from 3-9x40 to 10-40x50. That spread makes the series relevant to rimfire shooting, general hunting use and straightforward target work.

A defining trait of the VT-R family is its emphasis on traditional scope architecture. The series specifications identify a 1-inch tube, VCF fully multicoated optics and TES erector support, combining a conventional format with features aimed at dependable image quality and stable internal adjustment. Adjustable-objective versions in the line offer parallax correction from 10 yards to infinity, which broadens their usefulness for shorter-range rifles as well as general-purpose field shooting. Across the series, the appeal lies in simple operation, broad model choice and a format that suits shooters who prefer classic hunting optics over oversized long-range systems.

About the Discovery Optics VT-R 3-12x40 AOE

Discovery Optics VT-R 3-12x40 AOE is a compact variable-power riflescope built around a practical balance of reach, size and straightforward controls. Its 3-12x magnification range gives it more flexibility than a basic low-power hunting scope, making it suitable for stalking, rimfire shooting and general field use where target distance can change quickly. At the low end, the image remains manageable for closer shots and moving game; at the top end, 12x magnification gives the shooter enough detail for more careful shot placement and small-target work.

The 40.00 mm objective lens keeps the scope trim enough for rifles that benefit from a lower mounting height, while still offering a useful balance of brightness and portability. Its adjustable-objective parallax system, with correction from 10 m to inf, is particularly relevant for air rifles, rimfires and mixed-distance shooting, where precise focus and reduced aiming error matter more than on fixed-parallax hunting scopes. The SFP reticle keeps the reticle appearance constant through the zoom range, which many shooters find easier for fast visual acquisition, and the illuminated design helps preserve reticle visibility against dark targets or shaded backgrounds.

Mechanically, this model stays close to the needs of a working hunting optic. Capped, locking turrets are better suited to set-and-forget zeroing than exposed dialing, protecting the adjustments from knocks in the field. With 60.00 MOA of elevation and windage travel, a 25.4 mm tube, fully multicoated lenses and a nitrogen-filled waterproof, fogproof and shockproof body, it is configured for dependable everyday use rather than specialized competition handling.

About Discovery Optics

Discovery Optics, presented by the company as DISCOVERYOPT, states that it was established in 2009 and lists its main operations in Bao'an, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. The brand focuses on riflescopes for shooting and hunting, while also offering a broader electro-optical range that includes thermal imaging products. That mix places the company in the practical sporting-optics segment, with products aimed at users who want functional sighting equipment across several price and performance levels.

Its riflescope catalog spans multiple families, including the XED, ED, LHD and HD series, and the company offers both first-focal-plane and second-focal-plane reticles across its lineup. This breadth shows a design approach that covers traditional hunting scopes, more tactical-oriented optics and digital or thermal solutions within the same brand.
