Discovery Optics HD 4-24x50

• 4-24x magnification range: covers a wide span from shorter-range target acquisition to precise holdovers at distance, making the scope useful for mixed hunting and long-range range work.
• First focal plane illuminated reticle: the reticle scales with magnification, so hold values stay consistent throughout the zoom range, while red illumination helps the aiming point stand out against dark targets.
• 34 mm main tube: supports a robust tactical layout and generous internal adjustment, giving more room for dialing elevation on extended-distance shots.
• Side parallax adjustment from 13m to infinity: sharpens the target image and reduces aiming error across a very broad distance range, from close practice targets to far steel or varmint work.
• Fully multicoated optics and nitrogen-filled construction: improve contrast and light transmission while helping the scope stay clear in wet, cold, and rapidly changing conditions.

About the Discovery Optics HD Series

The Discovery Optics HD series is positioned as the brand’s precision-optics riflescope line, built for shooters who need a scope that can move between field hunting, long-range use, and precision shooting. Across the current HD family, Discovery Optics presents the series as a first focal plane platform, giving users reticle subtensions that remain valid as magnification changes. That makes the series especially relevant for practical dialing and holdover work rather than simple fixed-distance shooting.

The series is also defined by its emphasis on durability and stable optical performance. Discovery Optics describes the HD line as using HD optical glass with multilayer lens coatings, paired with a nitrogen-purged, fogproof construction. The current HD collection is rated by the manufacturer for 1500G recoil resistance and IP67 water protection, which places the series firmly in the category of hard-use tactical and hunting optics. Depending on the model, the range includes MRAD, MOA, and MIL configurations, with some versions offering zero-stop or locking turrets. The result is a family of scopes designed around practical adjustment systems, repeatable tracking, and a mechanical layout suited to shooters who regularly work across changing distances.

About the Discovery Optics HD 4-24x50

The Discovery Optics HD 4-24x50 is a variable-power tactical riflescope built for shooters who want one optic to cover a broad spread of distances. The 4-24x range gives it a useful balance: the lower end remains manageable for closer targets and positional shooting, while the upper end provides the image scale needed for precise shot placement, load development, and small targets at longer range. Combined with a 50 mm objective lens, the scope is configured to deliver a bright, usable sight picture without becoming excessively bulky for a rifle that still needs to be carried in the field.

This model uses a first focal plane reticle with red illumination, an arrangement that suits hold-based shooting and correction spotting because the reticle’s subtensions stay proportional throughout the magnification range. Daytime-visible illumination helps the aiming point remain easier to pick up against dark backgrounds or shaded targets. The tactical multi-turn turrets and 34 mm tube support a dialing-oriented setup, with 17.40 mrad of elevation adjustment and 8.70 mrad of windage adjustment available for zeroing and longer-range correction.

Practical usability is strengthened by the side-focus parallax adjustment from 13m to infinity, which lets the shooter tune image sharpness for both close and distant targets while minimizing parallax error. A 90.00-100.00 mm eye relief helps maintain a forgiving shooting position, and the fully multicoated optics are paired with a nitrogen-filled, waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof build for reliable use in changing weather and recoil-heavy applications.

About Discovery Optics

Discovery Optics, presented by the company as DISCOVERYOPT, states that it was established in 2009 and lists its main operations in Bao'an, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. The brand focuses on rifle scopes and related electro-optical sighting products for shooting and hunting, and its catalog extends beyond conventional optics into thermal imaging solutions.

Within its riflescope range, the company offers several distinct families, including the XED, ED, LHD, and HD series. Discovery Optics also lists both first focal plane and second focal plane reticle configurations in its scope portfolio, showing a product strategy that covers different shooting styles, from straightforward hunting setups to more adjustment-driven precision and tactical use. Its emphasis in this category is on practical optical systems with modern reticle layouts and feature sets suited to field and range rifles alike.
