Bushnell AR Optics 1-8x24

• 1-8x LPVO versatility: The 1.00 x to 8.00 x magnification range covers fast, close targets at low power and gives enough reach for more deliberate shots at distance, making it well suited to AR-platform rifles used across mixed distances.
• Illuminated BTR-1 reticle: The red illuminated BTR-1 reticle helps the aiming point stand out against dark targets and cluttered backgrounds, improving speed when light is poor or when targets appear suddenly.
• Second focal plane layout: With the SFP reticle, the aiming pattern stays visually consistent as magnification changes, which many shooters prefer for a clean sight picture at both low and high power.
• 30 mm nitrogen-filled tube: The 30 mm main tube provides a solid mounting platform, while nitrogen filling, fogproof construction, and IPX-7 waterproofing help the scope stay usable in rain, temperature swings, and hard field conditions.
• Fully multi-coated optics: Fully multicoated lenses support better contrast and light transmission, which helps maintain a clearer image when shooting in changing light or against low-contrast backgrounds.

About the Bushnell AR Optics Series

Bushnell AR Optics was developed around the needs of AR-15 and AR-10 compatible modern sporting rifles, with a design that favors a low-profile shape and a wide field of view for practical shooting. Within Bushnell’s lineup, the series sits as a purpose-built family for shooters who want optics matched to the handling and typical engagement distances of semi-automatic rifle platforms rather than traditional hunting scope formats.

The series includes multiple magnification ranges, reticle types, focal-plane configurations, and both 1-inch and 30-millimeter tubes, so it covers everything from close-range carbines to rifles set up for more deliberate distance work. Bushnell paired the line with fully multi-coated lenses and described the optics as using high-definition glass, aiming for a clear, practical image rather than unnecessary bulk. Reticle options in the family include designs such as BTR-1, Drop Zone 223, and other cartridge-oriented layouts, reflecting the series’ emphasis on fast holds and straightforward corrections. AR Optics models are also known for their Throw Down PCL power-change lever, which speeds magnification changes when the shooting pace changes quickly.

About the Bushnell AR Optics 1-8x24

The Bushnell AR Optics 1-8x24 is a low-power variable optic built for shooters who need one riflescope to handle both close work and intermediate distances. At 1.00 x, it gives a broad, easy-to-manage view that supports rapid target acquisition on carbines used for dynamic shooting, training, or general-purpose range use. Moving up to 8.00 x adds enough image scale for more precise shot placement on smaller or more distant targets, so the scope remains useful when the pace slows and accuracy matters more than speed.

The scope uses an illuminated BTR-1 reticle in the second focal plane. In practice, that means the reticle keeps the same apparent size throughout the zoom range, which many shooters find easier to pick up quickly at low power while still keeping the center aiming point clear at higher magnification. The 24.00 mm objective helps keep the optic compact, and the 30 mm tube gives it a robust mounting format common on LPVO setups.

Its capped turrets suit a field or duty-style role where settings should stay protected from accidental movement, while the 6 MIL per revolution layout still gives usable adjustment when zeroing. A fixed parallax at 92m keeps operation simple, and the 91.40 mm eye relief supports stable head position on AR-pattern rifles. With fully multicoated lenses, nitrogen filling, IPX-7 waterproofing, and shockproof construction, this riflescope is built for practical use in changing weather and regular transport.

About Bushnell

Bushnell was founded in 1948 by Dave Bushnell. He began selling optical products from a photographic shop in Pasadena, California, and the company grew into a well-known name in sports optics and outdoor equipment. Bushnell’s core focus includes optics for hunting, target shooting, birding, and nature observation, with product categories spanning binoculars, riflescopes, red dot sights, rangefinders, spotting scopes, and trail cameras.

In the riflescope market, Bushnell is known for broad, application-specific product families such as AR Optics, Legend, Prime, and Elite Tactical. The company has also developed proprietary features such as EXO Barrier, a lens coating designed to repel water, oil, dust, and debris. Bushnell’s long presence in field optics and its wide catalog have made it a familiar brand for shooters and outdoor users who want practical optical tools for real use rather than display-piece equipment.
