Explore Scientific 68° 20 mm Eyepiece

1. Wide Field Performance: The 68° apparent field offers a significantly immersive viewing experience compared to standard eyepieces, allowing observers to appreciate large celestial structures or star fields with ease. Its 20 mm focal length strikes an excellent balance, providing clear, bright images suitable for observing both extended deep-sky objects and planets.

2. Advanced Optical Design: This eyepiece incorporates a sophisticated multi-element optical design, optimized for high contrast and sharpness across the entire field. Each lens surface is fully multi-coated to minimize reflections and maximize light throughput, resulting in brighter and more detailed observations.

3. Durable Construction: Engineered for resilience, the eyepiece is argon-purged to prevent internal fogging and sealed against water, making it suitable for use in varied environmental conditions. This robust construction ensures that the optical elements remain pristine, safeguarding image quality over time.

4. Versatile Compatibility: Featuring a unique dual-barrel design, this eyepiece can be used in both 1.25-inch and 2-inch telescope focusers. This inherent versatility eliminates the need for separate adapters, making it a convenient and adaptable accessory for a wide range of astronomical telescopes. Proper maintenance and the use of original accessories will prolong its operational lifetime.

ABOUT THE EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC 68° 20 MM EYEPIECE

The Explore Scientific 68° 20 mm Eyepiece stands out from other models in its series due to its specific combination of a generous 68° apparent field of view and a versatile 20 mm focal length, making it an excellent choice for a broad range of astronomical observations. Unlike narrower field eyepieces, this model delivers a more expansive, immersive experience, ideal for framing larger deep-sky objects like nebulae and galaxies, or for sweeping through star clusters. Its optical precision, featuring fully multi-coated lenses, ensures superior light transmission and exceptional contrast, revealing fainter details even in challenging conditions. The eyepiece is designed with an argon-purged and waterproof construction, a key technical property that eliminates internal fogging and protects against dust and moisture ingress, significantly enhancing its durability and reliability over time. This makes it suitable for serious observers seeking a robust and high-performing accessory for general sky touring and deep-sky exploration. Using original Explore Scientific accessories and following recommended care procedures will help prolong the product's lifespan and maintain its optimal performance.
