Explore Scientific 2x Focal Extender 50.8 mm

1. Double Magnification: This 2x focal extender effectively doubles the focal length of your telescope. This allows any eyepiece used with it to provide twice the magnification, making it an essential tool for high-power observations of celestial objects like the Moon and planets where fine details are crucial.

2. 50.8 mm (2-inch) Compatibility: Designed for versatility, the extender features a 50.8 mm (2-inch) barrel that fits directly into standard 2-inch telescope focusers. It can also accept 2-inch eyepieces directly, or 1.25-inch eyepieces when used with an appropriate adapter (not included), ensuring broad compatibility.

3. Quality Optics: Equipped with fully multi-coated achromatic optical elements, this extender works to minimize internal reflections and maximize light throughput. The result is brighter, higher-contrast images with reduced false color, crucial for discerning subtle planetary features.

4. Robust Construction: Crafted from durable, black anodized aluminum, the housing of this focal extender is built to withstand regular use. Its precision machining ensures a secure and stable fit in your telescope's focuser, contributing to stable high-magnification viewing sessions and prolonged product lifetime when combined with original accessories and spare parts.

ABOUT THE EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC 2X FOCAL EXTENDER 50.8 MM

The Explore Scientific 2x Focal Extender 50.8 mm is engineered to significantly enhance your telescope's magnification capabilities by effectively doubling its focal length. This makes it an invaluable accessory for detailed observations of the Moon, planets, and tight double stars, where higher power is often desired. Unlike simply using a shorter focal length eyepiece, a focal extender maintains comfortable eye relief with longer focal length eyepieces while still achieving high magnification. Its design emphasizes optical precision, featuring multi-coated achromatic lenses that work to counteract chromatic aberration and ensure crisp, clear images with excellent contrast. This specific model's 50.8 mm (2-inch) barrel ensures wide compatibility with a variety of modern astronomical equipment, catering to observers who prioritize a broad field of view even at higher magnifications. The mechanical precision in its construction ensures stability, which is paramount for detailed viewing. Utilizing original accessories and maintaining proper care will significantly prolong the lifetime of this optical instrument.
