Vortex Venom 5-25x56 FFP

• 5-25x magnification range: Covers the span from mid-distance target work to precise long-range shooting, so the scope remains useful on varied rifles and across different stages or distances.
• First focal plane reticle: The reticle scales with magnification, keeping holdovers and ranging references consistent at any power and making corrections easier under match or field pressure.
• Locking tactical turrets with Zero Stop: Positive 0.10 MRAD clicks support fast dialing, while the locking function and return-to-zero system help prevent accidental movement during transport or positional shooting.
• 56 mm objective with fully multicoated lenses: The large objective and coatings help maintain a bright, high-contrast image, which is especially useful when aiming at small targets or reading mirage at distance.
• 34 mm tube and 25 MRAD adjustment range: The larger tube and broad internal travel give more room for elevation dialing, which is valuable for long-range setups and cartridges that need substantial correction.

About the Vortex Venom Series

The Vortex Venom series sits in the company’s current riflescope lineup as a practical entry point into modern shooting optics with configurations that cover both close-range and long-range use. The family includes 1-6x24 SFP, 3-15x44 FFP, and 5-25x56 FFP models, giving shooters a choice between a low-power variable for fast carbine work and first-focal-plane designs intended for more deliberate distance shooting. Within the range, the FFP models use EBR-7C reticles in MOA or MRAD, while the 1-6x24 uses an AR-BDC3 MOA reticle.

Venom riflescopes are aimed at shooters who want a capable optic for long-range and recreational shooting without moving into heavier or more specialized premium models. The series emphasizes practical features such as usable magnification ranges, modern reticle layouts, and a mechanical design suited to repeated dialing and regular range use. In the higher-magnification FFP versions, the focus is on clear hold references, adaptable magnification, and the kind of adjustment layout that supports learning wind calls, elevation corrections, and positional shooting with a consistent sight picture.

About the Vortex Venom 5-25x56 FFP

The Vortex Venom 5-25x56 FFP is built for shooters who need one riflescope to cover load development, steel targets at distance, and practical long-range shooting. Its 5-25x magnification range gives enough low-end flexibility for nearer targets while providing the top-end detail needed for precise aiming on small targets farther out. Combined with a 56.00 mm objective and fully multicoated lenses, it is configured to deliver a bright, contrast-rich image that helps with target definition and spotting subtle visual cues downrange.

The first focal plane reticle layout is especially useful in a scope of this type because holdovers and ranging values remain true throughout the zoom range. That makes the Venom easier to use in practical shooting where magnification may change from stage to stage or from one firing position to another. The 0.10 MIL click value, locking tactical turrets, and Zero Stop system support fast, repeatable dialing while reducing the chance of losing a known zero after transport or hurried adjustments. With 25.00 mrad of elevation and windage travel, the scope also offers the adjustment range expected for long-range rifle setups.

Side parallax adjustment from 15 yards to infinity helps sharpen the image and minimize aiming error across a wide spread of distances, while the fast-focus eyepiece speeds reticle setup to the shooter’s eye. A 34 mm tube, nitrogen filling, and waterproof, fogproof, shockproof construction round out a design that suits regular range use and demanding field conditions.

About Vortex

Vortex traces its roots to a Wild Birds Unlimited store opened by the Hamilton family in Madison, Wisconsin, in 1986. The Vortex brand entered the sport optics market in 2002, and the company is now headquartered in Barneveld, Wisconsin, where it operates as an employee-owned business. Its core focus is sport optics for hunting, shooting, and outdoor use, with product lines that include riflescopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, laser rangefinders, and red dots.

Within shooting optics, Vortex is known for broad product families such as Razor, Viper, and Kaibab, along with ballistic tools that use GeoBallistics technology. The company’s involvement in the U.S. Army’s Next Generation Squad Weapons program in 2022 also reflects experience beyond consumer optics alone. In the riflescope category, Vortex has built its reputation on practical reticle systems, durable mechanical designs, and a lineup that spans recreational shooting, hunting optics, and more specialized tactical applications.
