Sightron SIII 36X45 ED

• 36x fixed magnification: The high-power fixed design gives a consistent sight picture and a precise aiming reference, which suits benchrest, F-class and other target disciplines where repeatability matters more than rapid magnification changes.
• ED glass optical system: Extra-low-dispersion glass helps reduce color fringing and improves target definition, making it easier to resolve fine scoring rings and small aiming points at long distance.
• Side focus from 9.1 m - Infinity: Adjustable parallax lets the image and reticle stay in the same focal plane across a wide range of distances, which supports more precise shot placement in rimfire and centerfire target work.
• Capped target turrets with resettable zero: The target-style adjustment system allows deliberate, repeatable corrections while the caps help protect settings during transport between firing points or matches.
• 30 mm one-piece tube with waterproof, fogproof construction: The robust tube, nitrogen filling and sealed housing help the scope stay dependable through changing weather, temperature shifts and regular range use.

About the Sightron SIII Series

The Sightron SIII series sits in the brand’s upper riflescope range for shooters who need dependable tracking and application-specific configurations for competition, field-target and long-range shooting. Within the lineup, SIII models cover everything from dedicated target scopes to more versatile long-range optics, with designs tailored to precision work rather than general-purpose hunting use. A defining feature across the family is ExacTrack windage and elevation adjustment, Sightron’s system for maintaining consistent erector support through the adjustment range, which is especially relevant when shooters dial often and expect repeatable return to zero.

Optically, the series is known for Zact-7 Revcoat multicoating and model-specific glass configurations that prioritize contrast, resolution and a clean aiming image. The SIII range includes both first- and second-focal-plane models, along with reticle choices such as fine crosshair, target and hash-based designs, so the family serves shooters with very different preferences in holdover use and aiming precision. Mechanically, SIII scopes are built around practical turret layouts, side-focus systems and solid tube construction intended for repeated adjustment and disciplined target shooting.

About the Sightron SIII 36X45 ED

The Sightron SIII 36X45 ED is a fixed-power target riflescope built for shooters who want a stable, highly detailed image and a simple operating layout for deliberate fire. Its 36x magnification gives enough image scale for precise aiming on small targets, while the 45 mm objective keeps the front end relatively compact compared with larger high-magnification target scopes. For F-class, benchrest and other precision disciplines, that combination supports careful shot execution without the distraction of changing magnification settings between strings.

The optical system uses ED glass together with fully multicoated lenses to improve target definition and reduce visible color fringing around high-contrast edges. In practical terms, this helps the shooter separate the aiming point from the background more cleanly and maintain a more refined sight picture during load development or score shooting. The fast-focus eyepiece also helps bring the reticle into sharp focus quickly, which is useful when setting the scope up for an individual shooter’s eyesight.

Mechanically, this model is configured around capped target turrets with 5 MOA / 1.45 MRAD per turn and a total adjustment range of 50.00 MOA for both elevation and windage. That layout favors controlled, repeatable corrections while keeping the turrets protected when the rifle is moved between benches or firing points. The side-focus parallax adjustment from 9.1 m - Infinity is especially valuable on a high-magnification scope, because precise parallax correction helps keep the reticle from appearing to shift on target as eye position changes. A 30 mm tube, nitrogen-filled construction and waterproof, fogproof, shockproof build complete a scope intended for regular competition use.

About Sightron

Sightron was originally based in Miami, Florida, and later moved its headquarters to North Carolina. The company first focused on red-dot sights before expanding into riflescopes for hunting and target shooting, and it also produces binoculars and spotting scopes. In the riflescope category, Sightron is particularly associated with Japanese-made optics, and Sightron riflescopes are manufactured in Japan. Its lineup includes series such as SII, SIIB Big Sky, SIII, S-TAC and SV, covering everything from general sporting use to dedicated competition applications.

Two technologies are especially relevant here. Zact-7 Revcoat is Sightron’s lens multicoating system, developed to improve light transmission and reduce reflections, while ExacTrack is the company’s windage and elevation adjustment system used in several riflescope series. Together, those features reflect Sightron’s emphasis on practical optical performance and repeatable mechanical adjustment for shooters who rely on their optics for precise work.
