Sig Sauer Sierra6 BDX 3-18x44

• BDX digital holdover system: The scope works with compatible SIG SAUER BDX rangefinders to display an illuminated holdover point based on ballistic and environmental data, helping speed up longer shots without dialing turrets.
• 3-18x magnification range: This wide zoom span covers close woodland encounters at the low end and more deliberate mountain or open-country shooting at the high end, so one riflescope can handle varied hunting terrain.
• Second focal plane Digital Focal Plane reticle: The familiar SFP stadia stay easy to see across the zoom range, while the digital illuminated aiming point scales with magnification for practical holdover use.
• 44 mm objective with fully multicoated lenses: The optical system balances manageable size with useful light transmission, giving a bright, high-contrast image for dawn, dusk, and mixed light conditions.
• LevelPlex, MOTAC and IPX-7 construction: Digital anti-cant feedback, motion-activated illumination, and waterproof, fogproof, shockproof construction make the scope easier to trust in steep terrain and changing weather.

About the Sig Sauer Sierra6 BDX Series

The Sig Sauer Sierra6 BDX series sits in the premium end of SIG SAUER’s BDX hunting riflescope family and was introduced as a super-zoom line built around connected ballistic functionality. Rather than using a conventional illuminated reticle alone, the series combines second focal plane stadia with a digital illuminated holdover dot that scales with magnification. This gives hunters a familiar sight picture while adding a practical aiming reference for longer shots when paired with a compatible BDX rangefinder.

Across the line, SIG SAUER built in features that support real field use rather than bench-only shooting. LevelPlex digital anti-cant helps reduce rifle cant on uneven ground, MOTAC motion-activated illumination preserves battery life while keeping the scope ready, and KinETHIC energy indication adds another layer of ballistic information for hunters who want more confidence in shot placement. Anti-reflection lens coatings support contrast and image clarity in changing light, while the series format spans multiple configurations including 2-12x40mm, 3-18x44mm, and 5-30x56mm models. The result is a riflescope family aimed squarely at hunters and shooters who want broad magnification range, conventional handling, and digitally assisted holdover capability in one optic.

About the Sig Sauer Sierra6 BDX 3-18x44

The Sig Sauer Sierra6 BDX 3-18x44 is the most versatile all-round configuration in the Sierra6 BDX line, combining a useful 3-18x magnification range with a moderate 44 mm objective lens. In practical terms, that makes it well suited to hunting across mixed terrain: low enough in magnification for shorter opportunities in woodland or broken ground, yet with enough top-end reach for more precise shot placement in open country. The 30 mm tube keeps the scope compatible with common mounting systems while still providing a generous 17.40 mrad / 60.00 MOA elevation and windage range.

Its defining feature is the BDX-R2 Digital Ballistic Reticle in a second focal plane layout. This design preserves a clean, easy-to-read reticle image while using an illuminated digital holdover point for ballistic correction, which is especially useful for hunters who prefer to hold rather than dial. The capped turrets reinforce that field-oriented role: they protect settings from accidental movement during carry, stalking, or transport, while the 0.25 MOA click system still allows precise zeroing. Side parallax adjustment helps keep the image and reticle aligned at varying distances, which matters when using the full 18x magnification.

Optically, the scope uses fully multicoated lenses and a wide exit pupil range to stay practical across changing light conditions. The housing is argon filled, fogproof, shockproof, and rated IPX-7 waterproof, so it is built for hard weather and rough travel in the field. With MOTAC, LevelPlex, and BDX integration, this model is designed for hunters who want a traditional riflescope format with added digital assistance rather than a more complex target-style optic.

About Sig Sauer

SIG SAUER traces its origins to a wagon factory established near the Rhine Falls in Switzerland in 1853. The company’s modern U.S. presence is centered in Newington, New Hampshire, and the SIGARMS name changed to SIG SAUER in 2007. Today, the company works across several product categories including firearms, electro-optics, ammunition, airguns, and suppressors, with a particularly broad presence in shooting and hunting equipment.

In optics, SIG SAUER produces riflescopes, red-dot sights, and rangefinders, and it has developed technologies that connect optical performance with practical field use. Its HDX optical system combines extra-low-dispersion and high-transmittance glass, while the company’s electro-optics range also includes proprietary systems such as the HellFire illuminated reticle. SIG SAUER has also built a strong reputation in duty and precision-oriented optics, with the TANGO6T notably selected by the U.S. Army for its Squad Designated Marksman Rifle System.
