About the Benelli

Benelli brothers, owners of the Benelli motorcycle company, embarked on a new journey when they formed Benelli Armi S.p.A. company in 1967. The brothers were passionate hunters as well as fine engineers and with the help of Bruno Civolani, they developed an extraordinary hunting shotgun that used a simple inertia driven mechanism in place of a conventional gas-operated system. This mechanism turned out to be a revolutionary design, as it permitted the user to fire 5 rounds in less than a second, making it the fastest reloading action the world had ever seen. The company was acquired by the Beretta company in 1983. In 2002 they entered the rifle market which demanded the highest levels of mechanical precision and reliability. By the year 2007, 40 years after the company founding, they have already sold more than 2 million shotguns.

Benelli Argo Rifle Review

Benelli Argo rifle was introduced in 2002 and is an entirely new technical concept. The firearm’s repeater mechanism operates by using the gas pressure from the last fired round. Benelli Argo uses materials that are normally reserved for space exploration missions. The inclination of the stock to the weapon can be adjusted with the spacers provided with the rifle. These spacers are installed between the wooden stock and the metal receiver.

Which rifles have interchangeable mounts with Benelli Argo?

Mounts that fit the Benelli Argo rifle also fit:

Benelli R1
Browning BAR
Browning Acera
Browning Maral
Winchester SXR Vulcan
Fabarm Iris

Therefore, if a mount is designed for one of them, it will also fit all the others, as their mounting surfaces are identical.

Our recommendations for mounts

Fixed mounts:

One of the few options of mounts available for Benelli Argo are the MAKfix rings.

Detachable repeatable mounts:

A lot of detachable repeatable mounts are available for this rifle. If we would have to pick one out, it would be ERAMATIC pivot mount, because it will serve its purpose well.

Picatinny rails:

Many suitable Picatinny rails are available for this rifle. Contessa Picatinny rail is a bit more expensive than some others, but it is made of steel, compared to the cheaper ones, which are made of aluminium. The matching materials of rifle action and Picatinny rail are important from the mechanical perspective. More about that in our article Aluminum vs. Steel Picatinny Rails, which you can find here.

Help us build our riflescope mounts database

If you happen to own this or any other rifle, we would appreciate it if you could help us expand our database by sending us some photos of the rifle receiver (the bare mounting surface of the rifle without the mounts installed). For your help, our company offers a fair return in terms of practical rewards.
