Recknagel Two-Piece Base for 16mm Dovetail Mount for Benelli ARGO

• Two-piece 16 mm dovetail interface: The separate front and rear bases create the correct platform for Recknagel 16 mm dovetail mounts on the Benelli ARGO, giving a model-specific fit instead of a generic rail solution.
• Low 3.50 mm base height: A low front base helps keep the optic close to the bore, which supports a more natural cheek weld and a more stable shooting position on hunting rifles.
• Aluminium construction: The black anodized aluminium body keeps weight down while still providing the rigidity needed for a fixed mounting base on a semi-automatic sporting rifle.
• 0 MOA inclination: The neutral base geometry suits general hunting and sporting use, keeping the optic aligned without adding cant intended for specialized long-range setups.
• Made in Germany: German manufacture matches the expectations associated with Recknagel mounting components, where precise machining and consistent fit are central to reliable scope installation.

About the Recknagel Dovetail Bases Series

Recknagel Dovetail Bases are built around a straightforward idea: provide a 16 mm dovetail prism interface for rifles that are better served by a model-specific base than by a universal rail. The series is intended for hunting and sporting firearms, and it uses separate front and rear bases so the mounting geometry can be matched to the individual receiver. That approach matters on rifles with different action shapes and bridge heights, where correct alignment is just as important as strength.

Within Recknagel’s scope-mount range, this series sits as a practical foundation for tip-off style mounting systems. The bases are designed for mounts that clamp to a 16 mm dovetail, and the catalog profile uses 30-degree sides to create a defined mechanical interface. Front bases in the series use a 3.5 mm base height, while rear-base height varies by rifle model to maintain proper fit. Compatible platforms span a broad mix of European and international hunting rifles, which shows the series’ role as a modular mounting solution rather than a one-size-fits-all part.

About the Recknagel Two-Piece Base for 16mm Dovetail Mount for Benelli ARGO

The Recknagel Two-Piece Base for 16mm Dovetail Mount for Benelli ARGO is a fixed mounting base made specifically for the Benelli ARGO platform. Instead of adding unnecessary bulk, it provides the exact interface needed for Recknagel 16 mm dovetail bases, making it a sensible choice for hunters who want a clean, rifle-specific mounting solution for a conventional scope setup.

The two-piece layout leaves the action area less visually crowded than a full-length rail and keeps the installation focused on what the rifle actually needs: stable support points for the mount. Its 3.50 mm front base height helps maintain a low optic position, which is valuable on a hunting rifle because it supports faster sight alignment and a more consistent head position. The 0 MOA inclination also reflects the product’s intended role. Rather than being optimized for extreme elevation correction, it is configured for normal field shooting distances where a neutral base is the more practical option.

Construction is in black anodized aluminium, combining corrosion-resistant surface protection with reduced weight. On a semi-automatic rifle such as the ARGO, that matters because the mount should remain unobtrusive while still providing a dependable platform. As part of a matched Recknagel mounting system, this base is aimed at shooters who value correct fit, tidy integration, and a mounting height that supports practical hunting use.

About Recknagel

Recknagel is a German manufacturer focused on firearm and riflescope mounting systems, sights, and hunting accessories. The company’s history began in 1867, when Adolf Recknagel started manufacturing firearm sights in Albrechts near Suhl in Thuringia. Over time, the range expanded beyond sights to include scope mounts, Picatinny rails, triggers, safeties, and hunting silencers, reflecting a long specialization in mechanical components for sporting firearms.

The company has also broadened its lineup with category-specific product families, including the ERATAC line of tactical mounts and accessories introduced in 2010. Recknagel added lightweight hunting silencers in 2016, and in 2022 the company was acquired by Dr. Moritz Fehrer. For products such as mounting bases, Recknagel is known above all for precise fit, application-specific design, and a product range that serves both traditional hunting rifles and more modern optics platforms.
