Protektor Deluxe Rear Bag with Handle

• Integrated carry handle: makes the rear bag easier to move between benches or firing points, which is especially useful when carrying a complete rest setup to the range.
• Stable rear support: the Deluxe rear-bag design helps the rifle settle consistently under the buttstock, supporting steadier aim and more repeatable shot-to-shot tracking.
• Compact benchrest footprint: its smaller overall size is easier to position on crowded benches while still giving the rifle a firm, controlled rear contact point.
• Durable leather construction: Protektor rear bags are built around heavy leather that resists deformation over time, helping the bag keep its shape through regular range use.
• Versatile shooting-rest accessory: suited to use with shooting rests, it complements front-rest setups for target work, load development, and general precision shooting.

About the Deluxe Series

Protektor Deluxe rear bags sit in the brand’s line as more substantial, competition-oriented support bags for shooters who want greater stability than a basic rear rest. Within Protektor’s catalog of leather shooting bags, the Deluxe Bumble-Bee pattern is known for combining a relatively compact footprint with a firmer, more controlled feel on the bench. That makes it a practical choice for benchrest shooting, load testing, and longer-range target work where consistent rifle tracking matters.

The series is built around stiff leather construction and a shape intended to keep the rifle butt supported without excessive movement. Compared with softer or less structured bags, this design philosophy favors repeatability: the bag is meant to hold its form, resist rounding, and provide a steadier interface between rifle and bench. In the Protektor range, Deluxe rear bags appeal to shooters who want a dependable leather rear support that is easy to pair with front rests and adaptable to different stock styles, while still remaining portable enough for regular range use.

About the Protektor Deluxe Rear Bag with Handle

The Protektor Deluxe Rear Bag with Handle is a soft shooting rest accessory designed to give the rifle buttstock a more stable and repeatable rear support during precision shooting. Its role is simple but important: by controlling how the rear of the rifle settles, it helps the shooter maintain a more consistent sight picture and smoother recoil movement. That is particularly useful for bench shooting, zeroing, and load development, where small changes in rear support can affect point of aim and follow-through.

What sets this version apart is the integrated handle. On a practical level, that makes the bag easier to carry and reposition, especially as part of a larger shooting-rest setup. The bag’s 254.00 mm length, 173.00 mm width, and 107.00 mm height give it enough surface area to sit securely on the bench while remaining compact enough to manage easily. At 476.00 g, it is light enough to transport without adding much bulk to the rest of the kit.

As a Protektor rear bag, it is intended for use with shooting rests and fits naturally into a precision-oriented range setup. The leather-bag format remains popular because it offers a controlled, non-mechanical support point that experienced shooters can position exactly where needed. In use, that translates into steadier rifle alignment, better consistency from shot to shot, and a more settled shooting position behind the gun.

About Protector

Protektor Model was founded by Basil Tuller in 1938 and is based in Galeton, Pennsylvania. The company is closely associated with leather sandbag rifle and pistol rests, a niche it has served for decades for hunters, target shooters, and benchrest competitors. Its catalog includes both front bags and rear bags, reflecting a clear focus on practical shooting support equipment rather than a broad outdoor line.

A defining part of the brand’s identity is its use of top-grain cowhide for leather products and its continued manufacture in the United States. That background is especially relevant for a rear bag such as this one, where material stiffness, shape retention, and long-term durability matter directly in use. Protektor’s reputation in shooting rests comes from that specialized approach: simple, purpose-built leather support bags designed for repeatable rifle handling on the bench.
