Nikon Travelite EX 8x25 CF

• Compact Porro prism design: The Porro prism layout helps deliver a more spacious image than many pocket binocular formats, while the small single-hinge body stays easy to pack for travel, hiking and everyday carry.
• Fully multicoated optics: Multilayer coatings improve light transmission and reduce distracting reflections, giving a brighter, clearer view with better contrast in daylight and more usable performance in fading light.
• Long eye relief with turn-and-slide eyecups: The 15.50 mm eye relief and adjustable eyecups make it easier to find a comfortable viewing position, especially for eyeglass wearers and for longer observation sessions.
• Nitrogen-filled waterproof construction: A sealed, nitrogen-filled body resists internal fogging and handles wet weather better, which matters when conditions change quickly outdoors.
• Close focus to 2.80 m: The short close-focus distance is useful for nearby subjects such as butterflies, plants, exhibits and details on trails, not only distant scenery.

About the Nikon Travelite EX Series

Nikon Travelite EX is Nikon’s compact binocular series for users who want a small optic that still behaves like a serious field binocular. Positioned in the brand’s compact range, the series is aimed at birdwatching, hiking, travel, theatre and spectator sports, where low weight and easy packing matter as much as a clear image. Rather than using a minimalist roof-prism layout, Nikon built the series around Porro prisms and a central focusing system, giving these binoculars a traditional optical character in a compact format.

The range includes 8x25 CF, 9x25 CF, 10x25 CF and 12x25 CF models, allowing users to choose between a wider, steadier view or more reach in a pocket-friendly size. Across the series, Nikon specifies eco-glass free of lead and arsenic, multilayer-coated lenses and aspherical eyepiece lenses to support edge sharpness and a cleaner image across the field. All models are nitrogen-filled and waterproof to resist internal fogging, and they use long eye relief with turn-and-slide rubber eyecups for more comfortable viewing. The result is a compact binocular family designed for regular outdoor use rather than occasional fair-weather carrying.

About the Nikon Travelite EX 8x25 CF

The Nikon Travelite EX 8x25 CF is the most relaxed and versatile model in the Travelite EX family. Its 8x magnification gives enough reach for general wildlife observation, sightseeing and events, while remaining easier to hold steady than higher-power compact binoculars. Paired with a 25.00 mm objective lens, it keeps the binocular small enough for a jacket pocket or daypack, making it well suited to travel and long walks where bulk matters.

This model uses a Porro prism optical system with fully multicoated lenses, a combination that helps produce a bright, high-contrast image with a natural sense of depth. The 110.00 m/1000m field of view is practical for scanning landscapes, following moving subjects and finding targets quickly without the tunnel-like feel some compact binoculars can have. Nikon also gives the binocular a 2.80 m close focus, which broadens its use from distant observation to nearby details such as flowers, museum displays or insects along a trail.

In day-to-day handling, the central focusing system keeps adjustments quick and intuitive, while the 15.50 mm eye relief helps maintain comfort for eyeglass wearers. The single-hinge body remains easy to grip, and the nitrogen-filled waterproof and fogproof construction adds reassurance for damp mornings, changing temperatures and travel use. At 355.00 g, it stays light enough to carry all day without turning a compact binocular into a burden.

About Nikon

Nikon was established in Tokyo on July 25, 1917 as Nippon Kogaku K.K., and it introduced its MIKRON compact binoculars in 1921. That early involvement in compact sport optics is relevant to products such as the Travelite EX, which continues Nikon’s long-standing focus on portable binocular design. The company is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan and changed its name to Nikon Corporation on April 1, 1988.

Today, Nikon’s business spans imaging products, precision equipment, healthcare, industry, components and digital manufacturing, while its sport optics division covers binoculars, fieldscopes and laser rangefinders. In binoculars, Nikon is widely associated with practical optical design and the use of multilayer-coated lenses to improve light transmission. Its sport optics lineup includes established families such as MONARCH, PROSTAFF, EDG, ACULON and High Grade, covering everything from entry-level outdoor use to more specialized observation.
