Night Pearl NP-22

• 1x clip-on format: The Night Pearl NP-22 adds night vision to a daytime optic without changing the optic’s native magnification, so the familiar sight picture and shooting setup stay intact after dark.
• Compact catadioptric design: The short 140.00 mm body and 670.00 g weight keep the clip-on manageable at the front of the rifle or other daytime optics, helping preserve balance in field use.
• Wide field of view: With 227.00 m/1000m or 13.00 °, the device gives a broad image for scanning, target acquisition, and maintaining awareness around the aiming point.
• Automatic brightness control: The analog intensifier system regulates image brightness as light conditions change, which helps maintain a more usable image and reduces distraction when moving between darker and brighter areas.
• Long battery runtime: Powered by a CR123 battery with up to 70.00 h of operation, the NP-22 is suited to extended night sessions without frequent battery changes.

About the Night Pearl NP Series

The Night Pearl NP series began with the NP-22 in 2008, developed as a Gen 2+ night-vision clip-on for hunters who wanted to extend the use of their daytime optics after dark. The concept behind the series is practical: instead of replacing a familiar riflescope, binocular, or camera setup, the NP clip-on converts it to night vision while continuing to use the magnification of the attached daytime optic. That makes the series especially relevant for users who want a dedicated night capability without changing their established daytime system.

A defining characteristic of the series is its catadioptric lens system, which keeps the housing compact and relatively light for a front-mounted device. The NP design is also built around tool-free attachment and operation without re-zeroing the day optic, which is important for field use where speed and repeatability matter. Across the range, Night Pearl offers Gen 2+ to Gen 3 image intensifier options, including green and Onyx variants, and combines them with full-glass optics, multiple anti-reflective coatings, and automatic brightness control. The result is a series focused on preserving the handling and optical habits of a daytime setup while adding analog night-vision capability.

About the Night Pearl NP-22

The Night Pearl NP-22 is a 1.00 x analog night-vision clip-on built to sit in front of a daytime optic, so it adds night capability without replacing the optic the user already knows. In practice, that matters because the attached riflescope, binocular, camera, or camcorder continues to determine the final viewing magnification, while the NP-22 supplies the night-vision image. This makes the device especially useful for hunters and other users who want to keep their established daytime setup and handling characteristics.

The optical layout combines an 80.00 mm lens with a notably wide 13.00 ° field of view, giving the NP-22 a broad image that supports scanning and target acquisition before the view is narrowed by the attached optic. The clip-on format also benefits from the unit’s compact 140.00 mm length, because a shorter front attachment is easier to integrate into a practical field setup. At 670.00 g, it remains substantial enough for a metal-bodied electro-optic device while still being manageable on a rifle or observation platform.

Night vision performance depends on the chosen tube configuration, with versions available in Gen. 2+ and Gen. 3, including green and Onyx options. The system uses analog control and automatic brightness control, which helps keep the image more consistent as ambient light changes. The housing is metal, nitrogen-filled, and designed to work in temperatures from - 40 / + 50°C, while the CR123 power supply and up to 70.00 h battery life support long sessions in the field. Because there is no built-in IR illuminator, the NP-22 is best understood as a passive clip-on platform that can be paired with external support when conditions require it.

About Night Pearl

Night Pearl was established in the Czech Republic in 2009, following completion of its first device, the NP-22 night-vision clip-on in 2008. The brand focuses on electro-optics for low-light and no-light use, and its range covers thermal imaging, night vision, digital night vision, and daytime optics. Within those categories, the company produces handheld devices, clip-ons, rifle scopes, monoculars, binoculars, adapters, and sights, showing a clear specialization in field-ready observation and aiming systems.

A key step in the company’s development came in 2016, when Night Pearl opened a research, development, and manufacturing facility in Bystřice pod Hostýnem. The brand has produced thermal imaging devices under its own name since 2014, expanding from night vision into a broader electro-optics portfolio. For customers in the United States, Night Pearl USA began operating in Sarasota, Florida, in 2023, adding a local presence to support the brand’s European-designed products.
