Meprolight Tru-Dot for Sig Sauer P238

• Self-Illuminated Tritium: The Meprolight Tru-Dot sight set stays visible in low light and at night without batteries, so the pistol remains ready for carry, defensive use, or range work at any hour.
• Three-Dot Sight Picture: The 3-dot alignment gives a familiar reference that is quick to read under stress, helping the shooter center the front sight faster in both daylight and dim conditions.
• Steel Construction: A steel housing stands up to daily carry, repeated holstering, and slide cycling better than softer materials, which matters on a compact pistol that sees regular use.
• Fixed Sight Design: The fixed configuration keeps the setup simple and durable, with no adjustment controls to snag or shift, making it well suited to a defensive handgun.
• Square Rear Sight: The square rear notch supports a clear, conventional sight picture that helps the front dot stand out for faster alignment and more consistent shot placement.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot Series

Meprolight Tru-Dot sights are the company’s established tritium handgun sight line, built as replacement front and rear sights for a wide range of pistol platforms. Within Meprolight’s handgun catalog, the series includes fixed, adjustable, and suppressor-height variants, which gives the family broad appeal across concealed-carry, duty, and general defensive use. A defining feature of the series is its three-dot sight picture, designed to remain familiar in daylight while still providing a visible aiming reference when ambient light drops.

The core idea behind the series is practical readiness. Tritium illumination means the sights do not depend on batteries or activation, which suits pistols carried for personal protection or kept for immediate use. The line is also offered in different configurations for specific handgun fits, and selected models use different tritium dot color combinations to tailor the sight picture. Across the range, the design philosophy stays consistent: durable replacement sights, a straightforward alignment system, and dependable visibility for shooters who want a conventional iron-sight setup that works in both bright and low-light conditions.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot for Sig Sauer P238

The Meprolight Tru-Dot for Sig Sauer P238 is a compact handgun night sight set tailored to a pistol that is commonly chosen for discreet carry. On a small defensive handgun, sights need to be easy to read without adding complexity, and this model answers that with a self-illuminated tritium system and a familiar three-dot layout. In practical terms, that means the sight picture remains usable from bright daytime conditions to dim interiors and nighttime environments, without switches, charging, or battery management.

The fixed sight adjustment is an important part of the design. For a carry pistol, fixed sights reduce the chance of accidental movement and keep the profile simple for holster use and daily handling. The square rear sight helps define the rear notch clearly, making the front sight easier to center during quick presentations. Combined with the 3-dot alignment, this supports fast visual indexing at short defensive distances, where speed and clarity matter more than complex adjustment features.

Its steel construction also suits the role of the P238 well. A compact pistol is often carried more than it is shot, so the sights must tolerate repeated draw cycles, contact with clothing and holsters, and routine handling. The black finish keeps the appearance subdued, while the tritium-based aiming reference adds low-light capability without changing the pistol’s straightforward manual of arms.
