Meprolight Tru-Dot for Mossberg 590 (Front Sight)

• Self-illuminated tritium front sight: The green tritium aiming point stays visible in low light and at night without batteries, so the shotgun remains ready for defensive or duty use at any hour.
• Fixed steel construction: A steel sight body and fixed design keep the setup simple and durable, helping it hold alignment under hard use and recoil.
• Fast dot-and-bar alignment: The Tru-Dot sight picture is built for quick visual indexing, which helps speed up sight acquisition at close to moderate shotgun distances.
• No-switch operation: Because the sight is always on, there is nothing to activate under stress, reducing one more step when time matters.
• Mossberg 590 fitment: This front sight is made for the Mossberg 590 platform, giving owners a dedicated replacement sight for a cleaner, model-specific installation.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot Series

Meprolight Tru-Dot is a long-running family of self-illuminated tritium sights built as replacement iron sights for defensive and service firearms. Across the series, the focus is on a sight picture that remains familiar in daylight and still provides a visible aiming reference when ambient light drops. That makes the line especially relevant for users who want a simple aiming system that does not depend on batteries, switches, or charging.

Within the broader Tru-Dot range, Meprolight offers fixed and adjustable variants, along with models tailored to different firearm platforms and sight heights. The common thread is practical readiness: a durable metal sight body, a clear dot-based aiming reference, and tritium illumination intended to support low-light use over the long term. In use, the series suits defensive firearms, duty guns, and general-purpose setups where reliability and immediate visibility matter more than added complexity. For shooters who prefer iron sights that stay uncomplicated but remain useful after dark, the Tru-Dot series is designed around that exact role.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot for Mossberg 590 (Front Sight)

The Meprolight Tru-Dot for Mossberg 590 (Front Sight) is a dedicated shotgun front sight built for users who want a more visible aiming reference than a standard non-illuminated front bead or plain post. Its key advantage is the green tritium illumination, which provides a constant point of reference in dim interiors, transitional light, and nighttime conditions. On a defensive shotgun, that matters because the front sight is often the fastest visual cue to pick up when mounting the gun quickly.

The sight uses a fixed design, which keeps the setup straightforward and robust. There are no adjustment controls to snag, shift, or complicate the installation, making it well suited to a Mossberg 590 configured for home defense, patrol, or general hard use. The steel housing supports that role by giving the sight a solid structure that stands up well to recoil and routine handling.

Its dot-and-bar alignment style is intended to help the eye center the front aiming point quickly, supporting faster target acquisition at the practical distances where a shotgun is commonly used. Because the sight is self-illuminated, it remains active without batteries or external charging, so the shotgun can stay stored, carried, or staged in a ready condition without extra maintenance steps. For shooters who want a durable night sight upgrade on the Mossberg 590, this model emphasizes visibility, simplicity, and dependable operation.
