Meprolight Tru-Dot for AK-47

• Self-illuminated tritium system: The Tru-Dot sight picture stays visible in low light and at night without batteries, so the rifle remains ready at any hour with no switches to manage.
• Three-dot alignment: A clear 3-dot layout helps the eye center the sights quickly, which supports faster target acquisition on AK-pattern rifles in both daylight and dim conditions.
• Adjustable sight setup: Windage and sight adjustment capability allows the sight set to be tuned to the rifle and ammunition, giving a more precise zero for practical field use.
• Steel construction: The all-steel body is suited to the hard recoil, handling, and knocks common with service-style rifles, helping the sights hold up in regular use.
• AK-47 fitment: Built specifically for compatible AK-47 platforms, this sight set offers a dedicated upgrade for shooters who want improved low-light visibility without changing the rifle’s basic handling.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot Series

Meprolight Tru-Dot sights are built around a simple idea: keep the sight picture consistent from bright daylight to low-light conditions without relying on batteries. In the Tru-Dot family, the defining feature is the familiar three-dot aiming layout, paired with tritium illumination that remains visible at night while preserving the same basic alignment pattern used during the day. That continuity matters on defensive, duty, and field rifles because it reduces the need to adapt to a different sight picture as light changes.

Within the broader Meprolight lineup, the Tru-Dot series serves shooters who want a durable iron-sight solution rather than an electronic optic. The family includes fixed and adjustable configurations across multiple firearm platforms, with models tailored to specific fitments and use cases. Across the range, the emphasis stays on rugged metal construction, direct replacement installation, and fast, instinctive alignment. For users who prefer backup-free simplicity or who run rifles in rough conditions where battery independence matters, Tru-Dot sights provide a practical day-and-night aiming system with minimal maintenance.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot for AK-47

The Meprolight Tru-Dot for AK-47 is a dedicated rifle night sight set for compatible AK-pattern rifles, combining a traditional iron-sight format with round-the-clock visibility. Its main advantage is the self-illuminated tritium system, which keeps the aiming reference visible in darkness and transitional light without batteries, controls, or charging. For a platform often chosen for rugged field use, that simplicity is a practical strength.

The sight picture uses a green 3-dot arrangement that remains easy to interpret under stress. In daylight, the dots help the eye pick up the front and rear relationship quickly; in low light, the tritium keeps that same reference visible, so the shooter does not need to relearn the sight picture as conditions change. The adjustable design also matters on an AK, where different rifles, loads, and intended distances can call for careful zeroing. Being able to tune the setup helps the rifle deliver more dependable practical accuracy.

Mechanically, the sight set uses a steel construction suited to the handling characteristics of AK rifles. Steel gives the assembly the durability expected for repeated use, transport, and hard manipulation. At 150.00 g, it remains a compact upgrade that preserves the rifle’s familiar profile while adding a visible aiming reference for low-light work, defensive use, and general-purpose shooting.
