Meprolight HVS for Taurus

• Self-illuminated tritium system: The Meprolight HVS sight set stays visible in darkness and transitional light without batteries, so the sight picture remains available around the clock.
• High-visibility 3-dot layout: A clear three-dot arrangement helps the eye pick up the front sight quickly, making alignment faster for defensive shooting and general range use.
• U-notch rear sight: The green U-shaped rear reference guides the front sight naturally into the center, supporting quicker sight acquisition under stress.
• Steel construction: A steel body gives the sights the strength needed for daily carry, repeated holstering, and hard use on a working pistol.
• Fixed sight design: The fixed configuration keeps the setup simple and durable, with no adjustment controls to snag or shift during routine carry.

About the Meprolight HVS Series

The Meprolight HVS series, later renamed Hyper-Bright, was developed as a pistol sight family that combines daylight visibility and low-light usability in one fixed iron-sight system. Built around a three-dot sight picture with a U-shaped rear notch, the series is intended for shooters who want a fast, intuitive reference on defensive handguns without adding batteries or electronics.

A defining feature of the family is its use of self-illuminated tritium in both front and rear sights, paired with a bright front-sight contrast ring in selected color options. In practice, this gives the sights a clear role across changing light conditions: the colored front helps the eye lock on quickly in daylight, while the tritium remains visible when ambient light drops. The series uses steel construction and a fixed layout suited to everyday carry, duty pistols, and general handgun use. Available for multiple handgun makes, the HVS design focuses on quick alignment, robust construction, and a familiar sight picture that does not require a change in shooting technique.

About the Meprolight HVS for Taurus

The Meprolight HVS for Taurus is a fixed tritium night sight set built for Taurus pistols that need a durable, always-available iron-sight upgrade. Its main advantage is practical rather than complicated: it gives the shooter a sight picture that remains easy to read in bright light, dim interiors, and darkness, without depending on switches, charging, or batteries. That makes it well suited to concealed-carry pistols, home-defense handguns, and service sidearms where simplicity matters.

The sight set uses a 3-dot alignment pattern with a green U-notch rear sight. This rear shape helps frame the front sight quickly, which can make sight acquisition feel more natural during rapid presentation from the holster. Because the arrangement is fixed, the setup favors reliability and consistency over user-adjustable controls. Shooters who want a straightforward defensive sight picture often prefer this style because it reduces distractions and keeps the visual reference the same from one draw to the next.

Steel construction gives the sight set the durability expected for regular carry and repeated handling, while the self-illuminated design keeps the dots visible in low light at any hour. In use, that combination makes the HVS for Taurus a practical handgun sight set for shooters who want a robust steel replacement sight with round-the-clock visibility and a familiar, easy-to-center rear notch.
