MDT LSS Gen3 Tactical Chassis System, CZ 457 Product description

  • Modular LSS Gen3 architecture: The action-mating chassis base works with interchangeable handguards and buttstock interfaces, so the rifle can be configured for tactical shooting, training, or general range use without rebuilding the entire platform.
  • AR-pattern grip and carbine stock compatibility: Support for AR-15 style grips and a Carbine Interface makes it easier to tailor grip angle, length of pull, and rear support to the shooter and the role of the rifle.
  • M-LOK tactical forend: The 348.00 mm forend gives ample mounting space for bipods, barricade accessories, and other equipment while keeping the front end adaptable to different shooting positions.
  • CZ 457 magazine compatibility: Built around the CZ 457 platform and compatible with CZ 457 magazines, this chassis keeps the rifle practical for rimfire training and precision work with the factory magazine pattern.
  • Aluminium chassis construction: The Aluminium body provides a rigid foundation for the barreled action, helping maintain consistent bedding support while standing up to regular field and range use.

About the MDT LSS Series

The MDT LSS Gen3 series, announced on February 11, 2025, is MDT’s modular chassis platform for shooters who want one core system that can be adapted to different roles. MDT positions the series for competition, hunting, tactical applications, and general shooting, which explains its emphasis on configurable ergonomics and interchangeable components rather than a fixed one-purpose layout.

At the center of the design is an action-mating chassis base paired with interchangeable handguards and buttstock interfaces. That approach lets the shooter change the rifle’s front-end layout or rear stock arrangement while keeping the same chassis foundation. MDT also states that handguards and buttstocks can be changed without affecting rifle zero, an important practical advantage for users who want to reconfigure a rifle without repeating setup work. Across the series, the LSS Gen3 is designed to accept AR-style grips and uses an ambidextrous magazine latch, giving it familiar controls and broad ergonomic flexibility. The result is a chassis family aimed at shooters who value modularity, repeatability, and a straightforward path from a factory rifle to a more purpose-built precision setup.

About the MDT LSS Gen3 Tactical Chassis System, CZ 457

The MDT LSS Gen3 Tactical Chassis System, CZ 457 brings the LSS Gen3 concept to the popular rimfire action, creating a more rigid and configurable platform for training, positional shooting, and tactical-style rimfire competition. Because it is built specifically for the CZ 457 and remains CZ 457 magazine compatible, it preserves the rifle’s practical magazine system while upgrading the stock interface to a chassis layout with more adjustment and accessory potential.

This version uses a 348.00 mm M-LOK forend, which suits bipod use, support bags, and accessory mounting without adding unnecessary complexity. For a rimfire rifle used on barricades or improvised supports, that longer, flat-sided front section gives the shooter more usable contact area and more freedom in where accessories are placed. The chassis also accepts AR-15 style grips and uses a Carbine Interface at the rear, so the rifle can be set up with grip shape and stock geometry that better match the shooter’s preferred hand position and rear support style.

Its Aluminium construction and 1950.00 g weight reflect a design focused on stability rather than minimum carry weight. That added structure helps the rifle feel more planted in prone and supported positions, which is especially useful when a rimfire is being used as a trainer for centerfire precision shooting. With support for barrels up to 31.75 mm in diameter, the chassis also accommodates heavier barrel profiles commonly chosen for accuracy-focused CZ 457 builds.

About MDT

MDT Sporting Goods was established in 2009 and is headquartered in British Columbia, Canada, with roots in Chilliwack. The company focuses on designing, manufacturing, and selling rifle chassis systems, magazines, buttstocks, and accessories for target shooting and hunting. Its wider product range also includes bipods, scope bases, and scope rings, giving MDT a strong presence in the precision-rifle equipment category.

A notable part of MDT’s history is the TAC21, which the company identifies as its first chassis. MDT also states that its chassis, magazines, and accessories are developed with input from competitive precision shooters, which helps explain the practical, shooter-focused layout seen across its products. In addition to chassis systems, MDT produces scope bases machined from 6061-T6 aluminum to MIL-STD-1913 and STANAG 4694 specifications, reflecting the company’s emphasis on precision machining and compatibility with modern rifle setups.
