MAKipp Base for 12 mm Prism

• Break-action fit: This MAKipp base is made for break-action firearms with a 12 mm prism, giving a secure platform for adding an optic without resorting to improvised adapters.
• Ø 8 mm upper interface: Compatibility with MAK, INNOmount, Henneberger, Recknagel, Dentler, Kozap and other Ø 8 mm interface systems makes it easier to match the base with an existing upper mount.
• One-piece mounting concept: A one-piece base helps keep the setup straightforward and stable, which is especially useful on combination guns and kipplauf rifles where compactness matters.
• Made in Germany: German manufacture reflects MAK’s focus on precise machining and repeatable fit, both important for a mount component that must align cleanly with the firearm.
• 30-year warranty: The stated 30-year warranty adds long-term reassurance for a part that is expected to remain on the rifle through years of regular hunting use.

About the MAKipp Series

MAKipp is MAK’s riflescope mount series developed around the needs of hunters using classic sporting rifles and break-action firearms. Within the MAK lineup, the series covers both traditional two-piece solutions for established rifle platforms and one-piece MAKipp mounts for break-action firearms, giving the range a clear role wherever a compact, model-specific mounting solution is needed. The series is offered for 12 mm and 14/15 mm prism rails, reflecting the mounting standards commonly found on kipplauf rifles, combination guns and similar hunting arms.

A defining characteristic of the series is its broad configuration logic. MAKipp versions are listed for scope tube diameters including 1 inch, 30 mm, 34 mm and 36 mm, with ring-height options such as 2.5 mm, 3 mm, 5 mm and 10 mm. That allows the system to be adapted to different optic sizes and objective clearances while keeping the installation compact. In practical use, the series is aimed at shooters who want a mount that respects the proportions of traditional hunting firearms while still integrating into modern optic setups.

About the MAKipp Base for 12 mm Prism

The MAKipp Base for 12 mm Prism is a category-specific mounting base for break-action and combination firearms that use a 12 mm prism. Rather than being a universal rail, it is designed around this established mounting format, which makes it especially relevant for hunters running kipplauf rifles, drillings, combination guns and other compact sporting arms where a low, tidy optic installation is preferred. The practical advantage is a cleaner interface between firearm and optic mount, with less unnecessary bulk than a more generic conversion setup.

This base also stands out for its Ø 8 mm upper-interface compatibility. It works with upper components from MAK, INNOmount, Henneberger, Recknagel, Dentler, Kozap and other systems built around the same Ø 8 mm standard. That flexibility matters in the field because it lets the shooter build around a familiar upper mount or replace only part of the mounting system instead of starting over completely. For owners of multiple hunting optics, that can simplify equipment planning and preserve a consistent mounting concept across different firearms.

Its application list shows a strong focus on break-action and combination firearms, including models from Antonio Zoli, Baikal, BRNO, Haenel, Marocchi, Mauser, Sabatti and Steyr Mannlicher. Finished in black and made in Germany, the base is positioned as a durable, purpose-built foundation for a hunting optics setup where fit, compatibility and mechanical simplicity matter more than unnecessary complexity.

About MAK

MAK is a German brand associated with Kilic Feintechnik GmbH in Schwebheim, Germany. The company develops and manufactures optical mounts, optics and electronic products, serving civilian and government markets that include hunters, sports shooters and professional users. Within the shooting-optics sector, MAK is particularly known for combining mount engineering with a broader product ecosystem rather than treating mounts as isolated accessories.

The brand’s range includes mounting lines such as MAKuick and MAKmilmont, along with optics families like MAKdot, MAKstorm and MAKpro. MAK also identifies patented solutions within its optics, mounts and electronics portfolio, and it develops both standardized products and customized solutions for professional use. That background is relevant here because a mount like the MAKipp base comes from a manufacturer whose core expertise is the mechanical interface between firearm and optic.
