IOR Spyder 9-36x44 FFP

• 9-36x magnification range: The wide zoom span lets this riflescope move from precise mid-range target work to very fine aiming at long distance, giving competition shooters more flexibility on the same rifle.
• First focal plane design: Because the reticle scales with magnification, holdovers and corrections stay consistent throughout the zoom range, which helps when changing power between stages or distances.
• 35 mm main tube with 25 mrad adjustment: The large tube and generous elevation and windage travel provide the adjustment range needed for disciplined long-range setups and detailed zeroing.
• Side parallax adjustment from 7.6 to infinity: Fine parallax control helps keep the target and reticle on the same focal plane, improving aiming precision at both relatively short and extended distances.
• 95 mm eye relief and fully multicoated optics: The long, consistent eye relief supports a stable shooting position, while the lens coatings help maintain contrast and image clarity across the magnification range.

About the IOR Spyder Series

The IOR Spyder series sits in IOR’s competition riflescope range and is built around the needs of shooters who want high magnification, precise aiming, and repeatable mechanical adjustment. In this family, the emphasis is on practical long-range target use rather than compact field carry, so the design favors a broad zoom range, detailed image presentation, and turret systems suited to deliberate correction.

The Spyder 9-36x44 format shows the series character clearly: variable magnification from 9x to 36x and a 44 mm objective lens place it firmly in the precision and competition category. That combination is well suited to shooters who need to read mirage, inspect target detail, and refine point of aim at extended distance. The series also reflects IOR’s long-standing preference for robust mechanical construction, larger main tubes, and practical optical layouts intended for serious range use rather than minimal weight. In short, Spyder riflescopes are designed for shooters who value exact reticle use, broad adjustment range, and the ability to exploit high magnification in a tactical or competition riflescope.

About the IOR Spyder 9-36x44 FFP

The IOR Spyder 9-36x44 FFP is a high-magnification tactical riflescope intended for competition shooting, precision rifle work, and other applications where exact aiming matters more than fast close-range acquisition. Its 9-36x magnification range gives the shooter room to balance field of view against target detail: lower settings are more manageable for locating targets and settling into position, while the upper end is useful for reading small aiming points and making very fine corrections at distance. The 44 mm objective lens keeps the scope relatively trim for its magnification class while still supporting a bright, usable sight picture.

The first focal plane reticle is one of the model’s most important practical features. Because the reticle changes size with magnification, subtensions remain proportionate across the zoom range, which is valuable for holdovers and measured corrections when power settings change between shots or stages. The scope also uses tactical turrets with 25 mrad of elevation and windage adjustment, giving the shooter substantial correction range for zeroing and long-range dialing. Its side-focus parallax adjustment from 7.6 to infinity helps sharpen the image and reduce aiming error as distance changes.

Mechanically, the scope is built around a 35 mm main tube and a 350.00 mm body, with a weight of 907.00 g. That configuration favors rigidity and adjustment travel over minimum mass. Fully multicoated lenses support contrast and image definition, while 95.00 mm eye relief gives a consistent head position behind the rifle. Nitrogen filling adds internal fog resistance, making the scope better suited to changing temperatures and demanding range conditions.

About IOR

IOR is a Romanian optics manufacturer headquartered in Bucharest, with company roots going back to 1936. Over time, the firm developed expertise across both commercial and military optics, and it was nationalized in 1948. In the sporting market, IOR produces riflescopes for hunting and sport shooting, including tactical riflescopes and reflex sights, while its military work extends to optical equipment for infantry, artillery, and armored vehicles, as well as night-vision devices.

A notable part of IOR’s reputation in riflescopes is its use of German Schott glass and its long-standing focus on robust mechanical construction. IOR also states that it introduced 35 mm and 40 mm main tubes in riflescopes and developed 6×, 7×, 8×, and 10× zoom riflescopes with parallax adjustment on the central tube. That background helps explain why models such as the Spyder place so much emphasis on adjustment range, optical precision, and durable scope architecture for serious shooting applications.
