HI VIZ LiteWave Front Sight, S&W M&P

• LiteWave fiber-optic front sight: The exposed LitePipe gathers ambient light from multiple angles, giving the front sight a brighter aiming reference that is faster to pick up in daylight and mixed lighting.
• Interchangeable LitePipes: The sight accepts green, red, and white LitePipes, so the shooter can tune sight color to the range background, target contrast, or personal preference.
• All-steel construction: A steel body stands up better to daily carry, repeated holstering, and hard use than softer materials, helping the sight keep its shape and fit over time.
• Fixed front-sight design: With no adjustment mechanism to snag or shift, this front sight suits defensive pistols and general range use where a simple, durable setup matters most.
• M&P-specific fit: Built for Smith & Wesson M&P full-size, Compact, Shield, Shield Plus, and M&P M2.0 models, it offers a direct platform-specific upgrade for a clearer front sight picture.

About the Hi Viz LITEWAVE Series

HIVIZ introduced the LITEWAVE series in November 2014 as a fiber-optic sight family built around practical visibility and everyday durability. Across the range, interchangeable LitePipes let shooters change sight color to suit lighting conditions, target backgrounds, or personal preference, which makes the series useful for everything from range practice to field carry. HIVIZ positions LITEWAVE sights as holster-friendly designs for competition, recreation, education, hunting, daytime use, and low-light use.

A defining feature of the series is the diagonal-wave exoskeleton design. This structure exposes more of the LitePipe to ambient light while also protecting it from impact and abrasion. In practice, that means a brighter front reference without giving up the toughness needed for repeated draw-and-holster use. The LITEWAVE family includes both handgun and rifle-sight variants, with front and rear configurations available, and it remains a current part of the HIVIZ lineup. The series is aimed at shooters who want a more visible sight picture than plain black irons, while keeping the handling, simplicity, and compact profile expected from iron sights.

About the HI VIZ LiteWave Front Sight, S&W M&P

The HI VIZ LiteWave Front Sight, S&W M&P is a dedicated fiber-optic front sight for shooters who want a faster, clearer front reference on Smith & Wesson M&P pistols. It fits M&P full-size, Compact, Shield, Shield Plus, and M&P M2.0 models, while excluding CORE, full-size M&P 22, and 22 Compact variants. That application makes it well suited to defensive carry pistols, training guns, and general-purpose range handguns where rapid front-sight acquisition matters more than a complex adjustable setup.

The sight uses the LITEWAVE diagonal-wave housing to expose the LitePipe to light from different angles, helping the front dot stand out more clearly in bright outdoor conditions as well as on dim indoor ranges. Because the LitePipe is interchangeable, the shooter can switch between green, red, and white inserts to improve contrast against the target or the environment. That flexibility is useful when a color that works well on a sunny bay does not stand out as well against darker backstops or shaded targets.

All-steel construction gives the sight the strength needed for regular carry, repeated holster use, and routine handling. Its fixed design keeps the profile simple and snag-resistant, which suits a handgun that must remain dependable and easy to draw. For shooters upgrading from a less visible factory front sight, this model focuses on one practical improvement above all else: a brighter, easier-to-track front aiming point that supports quicker alignment.

About HiViz

HIVIZ began in 1996 with a single shooting-related product and grew into a specialist maker of sights and accessories for handguns, shotguns, and rifles. The company is based in Laramie, Wyoming, United States, and is known for products that center on practical sight visibility in the field and on the range. Its catalog includes fiber-optic sights, tritium sights, recoil pads, and related shooting accessories.

A key part of the brand’s identity is its LitePipe system, including removable and reusable fiber-optic elements that let shooters tailor sight color to conditions and replace worn pipes without replacing the whole sight. HIVIZ also developed the LITEWAVE exoskeleton design with an integral LitePipe locking system, combining light exposure with protection for the fiber-optic element. Alongside LITEWAVE, the company’s sight lines have included TriViz and CompSight, reflecting a long focus on practical iron-sight upgrades for sporting, defensive, and field firearms.
