Hawke Vantage HD 30 1-8x24 Product description

  • True 1× Minimum Magnification with Ultra-Wide Field of View: The 1–8× magnification range starts at a genuine 1×, allowing the scope to be used with both eyes open for fast, close-range target acquisition — comparable to a red dot sight at minimum power. At 1×, the scope delivers an exceptional field of view of 38.3 metres at 100 metres, which is among the widest available in the 1–8× LPVO class and provides outstanding situational awareness at short range.
  • Three Reticle Options for Different Use Cases: The scope is available in three reticle variants. The L4A Dot (art. no. 14310, calibrated at 4×) provides a versatile, clean reticle suitable for hunting and general field shooting. The Circle Dot (art. no. 14311, calibrated at 8×) uses a circle-and-dot design that supports fast close-range acquisition and more precise aiming at distance. The Tactical BDC 5.56 (art. no. 14312, calibrated at 8×) features bullet drop compensation points calculated for 5.56×45mm NATO cartridges, providing intuitive holdovers without dialling the turrets.
  • Daylight-Bright Dual-Colour Illumination: All three reticle variants are illuminated in both red and green across 5 intensity settings, with off positions between each step, controlled via a stepped rheostat. The dual-colour option allows the shooter to select the colour that provides the best contrast against the current target background — particularly useful when transitioning between different lighting environments during a shooting day.
  • Compact and Lightweight Build: At 267 mm in length and 468 g, the Vantage HD 30 1-8x24 is exceptionally compact and light for a 30mm tube LPVO, adding minimal weight and bulk to the rifle. This makes it well suited to driven hunting rifles, semi-automatic platforms, and any build where a low total system weight is a priority.
  • H2 Optical System with 11-Layer Fully Multi-Coated Lenses: High-grade glass with 11-layer fully multi-coated lenses provides consistent light transmission and a clear image across the full magnification range. An exit pupil of 24 mm at 1× ensures an immediately accessible, full sight picture with minimal precision required for eye placement — critical in driven hunting where the scope is raised and a shot taken under time pressure.
  • Capped Low-Profile Resettable Turrets: The capped, low-profile, resettable turrets offer 210 MOA of elevation and windage adjustment in ½ MOA click increments. The capped design protects the zero from accidental movement during carry and handling — appropriate for a hunting LPVO where adjustments are made at the range and the zero is maintained throughout the season.
  • Fixed Parallax at 91 Metres: Parallax is fixed at 91 metres (100 yards), which is well suited to the typical engagement distances of this scope's intended applications and removes the need for parallax management in fast, dynamic shooting situations where every second counts.
  • 97mm Eye Relief with XL Zoom Throw Lever: The 97mm of eye relief provides comfortable clearance for use on centrefire semi-automatic and bolt-action rifles. The included XL zoom throw lever enables rapid, positive magnification changes without breaking cheek weld — essential in dynamic situations where the shooter must quickly transition from a wide close-range view to a magnified sight picture for a follow-up shot.

About the Vantage Series

The Hawke Vantage series is the broadest riflescope lineup in Hawke's product range, built on the H2 optical system and covering a wide variety of tube diameters, magnification ranges, and reticle configurations at an accessible price point. The range is designed for hunters, target shooters, and recreational shooters who require a reliable, versatile optic without the cost associated with higher-tier optical systems.

All Vantage models feature 11-layer fully multi-coated lenses delivering consistent light transmission and a wide-angle field of view. The lineup spans standard 1-inch, 30mm, and 34mm mono-tube chassis, covering first focal plane and second focal plane optics, side focus and fixed parallax variants, illuminated and non-illuminated reticles, and a broad selection of calibre-specific and universal reticle designs — from close-range LPVO configurations through general hunting and varminting to long-range precision use.

The Vantage HD 30 1-8x24 represents the LPVO configuration within the Vantage HD 30 sub-series, designed for shooters who need a single optic capable of functioning like a red dot at close range and a conventional riflescope at distance. Three reticle variants cover general hunting, fast-acquisition close-range use, and tactical/sporting applications with 5.56×45mm NATO calibre-specific holdovers.

About the Model (Hawke Vantage HD 30 1-8x24)

The Hawke Vantage HD 30 1-8x24 is a low power variable optic designed for driven hunting, semi-automatic rifle platforms, and sporting use where the ability to engage targets at close range quickly, then transition to higher magnification for more deliberate shots, is the primary requirement. The 1–8× magnification range provides an 8× zoom ratio starting from a genuine 1×, which allows the scope to be used with both eyes open at close range. The 38.3-metre field of view at 100 metres at minimum power is exceptionally wide, providing the situational awareness needed in driven hunting scenarios where game may appear from any direction at close range and the shot opportunity is brief.

The 24mm objective lens, combined with the H2 optical system and 11-layer fully multi-coated lenses, delivers consistent light transmission and a clear image across the magnification range. An exit pupil of 24 mm at 1× ensures an immediately accessible full sight picture even with imprecise eye placement, while the 97mm of eye relief provides comfortable clearance for use on centrefire platforms.

Three reticle variants are available. The L4A Dot (art. no. 14310) is calibrated at 4× and provides a versatile, clean holdover reticle for hunting and field shooting. The Circle Dot (art. no. 14311) is calibrated at 8× and combines a large open circle for fast target framing at low power with a precise centre dot for accurate shot placement at higher magnification. The Tactical BDC 5.56 (art. no. 14312), also calibrated at 8×, provides bullet drop compensation holdover points optimised for 5.56×45mm NATO trajectories, allowing intuitive holdover shooting at known distances without turret adjustment. All three variants feature illumination in red and green with 5 brightness levels and off positions between each step.

The capped, low-profile, resettable turrets offer 210 MOA of elevation and windage adjustment in ½ MOA click increments. Parallax is fixed at 91 metres. The fast-focus eyebell allows rapid dioptre adjustment, and the XL zoom throw lever enables fast magnification changes without breaking cheek weld. At 267 mm and 468 g, the scope is notably compact and light for a 30mm LPVO. The mono-tube is nitrogen purged and fully sealed, providing waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof performance rated for all calibres.
