GRS Thumbhole, Bergara B14 HMR LA

• Thumbhole stock design: The thumbhole layout gives the firing hand a more natural angle and a secure hold, helping the rifle feel steadier in field positions and more controlled during deliberate shot placement.
• Adjustable cheek piece: Built-in cheek piece adjustment makes it easier to align the eye consistently behind the optic, which supports repeatable head position and more reliable shooting with scoped hunting rifles.
• Laminate construction: The laminate stock combines stiffness with durability, giving the rifle a solid feel while standing up well to regular hunting and range use.
• Glass bedding: Glass bedding supports a stable fit between action and stock, which helps maintain consistent contact surfaces and can contribute to dependable accuracy over time.
• Long-action compatibility: This version is configured for the Bergara B14 HMR LA, providing a purpose-built fit for shooters who want a replacement stock matched to that long-action platform.

About the GRS Thumbhole Series

GRS Thumbhole is the company’s first thumbhole stock and sits within the brand’s laminate-stock range as a practical option for hunters and shooters who want a more supportive grip shape than a conventional sporter stock. GRS positions the series for field use and range shooting, so the design balances carry-friendly handling with the control needed for deliberate shooting from supported and unsupported positions.

The series is made from birch laminate with an oiled finish, giving it the solid feel and visual character associated with laminate rifle stocks while keeping the stock suited to regular outdoor use. A defining feature across the range is GRS SpeedLock adjustment, which reflects the brand’s focus on adaptable stock fit. The Thumbhole series is offered in several color options, including Brown, Green Mountain Camo, Nordic Wolf, Orange, and Black, and it is produced in configurations for multiple rifle brands. In practice, the series appeals to shooters who want a hunting stock with a more vertical, hand-filling grip and adjustable fit, without moving to a full tactical chassis format.

About the GRS Thumbhole, Bergara B14 HMR LA

The GRS Thumbhole, Bergara B14 HMR LA is a laminate hunting stock built for shooters who want a more controlled interface with their Bergara B14 HMR long-action rifle. Its thumbhole shape promotes a relaxed wrist angle and a firm, repeatable grip, which is especially useful when shooting from improvised field rests, prone positions, or the bench. That stock geometry makes the rifle easier to settle behind and helps the shooter maintain steadier trigger control during slower, more deliberate shots.

The stock uses laminate construction and a glass-bedded action fit, combining structural rigidity with a stable bedding surface. In practical terms, that gives the rifle a solid, planted feel and supports consistent action-to-stock contact. The adjustable cheek piece is one of the most important functional features, because it allows the comb height to be set for the optic in use. A correct cheek weld improves eye alignment, speeds up sight picture acquisition, and reduces the need to lift or roll the head behind the scope.

With a 390.00 mm length of pull, 40.00 mm forend width, and a weight of 1300.00 g, this stock is configured for practical hunting use rather than extreme weight reduction. It suits applications such as alpine hunting, driven hunt, stalking, and woodland hunting, where a stable hold and good rifle fit matter as much as portability. The stock is non-folding and rated up to .375 HH, underlining its role as a durable field stock for serious hunting rifles.

About GRS

GRS traces its history to 2010 in Grodås, Hornindal, Norway, while the family business behind it began in 1983 as Grodås Møbler AS, a furniture manufacturer. That background is relevant because it connects the brand’s rifle-stock expertise with long experience in shaping wood-based products. GRS Riflestocks AS is headquartered in Hornindal and focuses on rifle stocks for hunting and shooting.

The company produces laminate and composite rifle stocks as well as aluminum chassis stocks, covering traditional hunting setups and more specialized shooting applications. Its product families include Hunter Light, Sporter, Bifrost, Fenris, Warg, and Ragnarok, and the brand is also known for the GRS SpeedLock adjustment system used on its stocks. GRS began making laminate rifle stocks in 2011, and that remains an important part of its identity in this category.
