About the SPECTRA Series

The SPECTRA series is GPO's mid-range riflescope line, built to combine precise German engineering with practical features at a competitive price point. The lineup spans several 8x-zoom configurations — including this 1-8x24i, along with 1.6-13x44i and 2.5-20x50i models — each aimed at different hunting and shooting scenarios while sharing the same core design philosophy.

Across the SPECTRA range, riflescopes are built on a 30 mm main tube with GPObright™ lens coatings for high light transmission, and use illuminated G4i reticles — including fiber-based versions that produce an especially fine, bright aiming point. Turrets are precise and mechanically robust, with an integrated Zero Stop as standard and, on several models, the option to retrofit GPO's Ballistic Turret (GBT) for quick-adjust holdover at longer distances.

About the Model (GPO SPECTRA 8x 1-8x24)

The SPECTRA 8x 1-8x24 is the successor to GPO's original 1-8x24i, built on the same optical platform as the brand's 1.6-13x44i and offering an 8x zoom range from true 1x up to 8x magnification. At 1x, the scope delivers a distortion-free 41 m field of view with edge-to-edge sharpness, allowing the shooter to keep both eyes open for fast target acquisition at close range, without the artificial minification some wide-angle designs use to inflate their field-of-view figures.

The riflescope uses GPO's G4i fiber reticle, manufactured in Germany, which produces a very finely defined, extremely bright illuminated dot suited to a wide range of lighting conditions. Illumination is managed by GPO's iControl™ technology, which automatically shuts the reticle off after three hours of inactivity, warns the user when the battery drops to 15%, and — using built-in angle sensors — dims or switches off the illumination when the scope is tilted away from a normal shooting position, reactivating within a fraction of a second once leveled again. This behavior can be turned on or off by the user.

A generous 95 mm eye relief and 8.5 mm exit pupil add comfort and a safety margin under recoil, while the scope's 538 g weight keeps it light on the rifle. The turret system supports tool-less zeroing and includes an integrated Zero Stop, and the optional GPO Ballistic Turret (GBT) can be retrofitted by the user for quick holdover adjustments at distance. The scope is available in two configurations: RSX801, mounted via a rail interface, and RSX801R, mounted via conventional scope rings. The "X" designation on both versions indicates GPO's enhanced electronics package, with tilt sensors for improved battery efficiency and a fiber reticle that starts at a noticeably darker initial brightness setting.
