EAW pivot mount, Swarovski SR rail, Mauser 86

• Repeatable return to zero: The EAW pivot design lets the scope be removed and reattached without changing point of impact, which is useful when switching optics or transporting the rifle.
• Swarovski SR rail interface: The mount is built for scopes with the SR rail, giving a secure, precisely aligned connection without separate rings and helping maintain consistent positioning on the rifle.
• Mauser 86SR-specific fit: This version is made for the Mauser 86SR, so it matches the rifle platform it is intended for and provides a clean, purpose-built mounting solution.
• Steel construction: The steel body gives the mount the rigidity and wear resistance needed for long-term use, especially on hunting rifles that see repeated mounting and removal.
• Low-profile pivot system: EAW pivot mounts are designed to keep the optic close to the rifle while allowing fast handling, which supports a natural shooting position and practical field use.

About the EAW Pivot Mounts Series

EAW Pivot Mounts are a long-established part of the company’s mount range and remain one of its core solutions for traditional hunting rifles and other common long guns. EAW states that it developed and launched this pivot-mount system more than 50 years ago, and the design is still valued for its combination of secure lock-up, low mounting height and repeatable reattachment. In practical use, the system is intended for shooters who want to remove an optic for transport, switch to a second scope, or alternate between sighting setups without losing zero.

A defining feature of the series is its adjustable front and rear mount-foot fit, which helps the mount be tuned precisely to the rifle and optic combination. The series is built around the idea of dependable return to the original point of impact after removal and reinstallation, which is why it remains relevant for hunting applications where one rifle may serve several roles. Within the broader EAW lineup, Pivot Mounts sit alongside slide-on and claw mounts, offering a classic mechanical solution with a strong emphasis on repeatability, solid steel construction and rifle-specific fit.

About the EAW pivot mount, Swarovski SR rail, Mauser 86

This EAW pivot mount is configured specifically for the Mauser 86SR and for riflescopes that use the Swarovski SR rail. That combination makes it a practical choice for shooters who want a dedicated, rifle-specific mounting solution rather than a more universal setup. Because the scope attaches by rail rather than separate rings, the optic sits in a controlled, repeatable position that supports consistent alignment and straightforward handling.

The main advantage of this mount is the way it combines the traditional EAW pivot mechanism with a rail-based scope interface. In the field, that means the optic can be removed when needed and reattached later while preserving the rifle’s established zero. This is especially useful on a hunting rifle that may be carried in a case, stored with the scope removed, or used with more than one sighting setup. The pivot system also keeps operation simple: once fitted correctly, it provides a secure mechanical lock-up with the convenience that has made this mount style popular for decades.

Steel construction is another important part of the design. It gives the mount the stiffness needed to resist movement under recoil and the durability to handle repeated opening, closing and reinstallation over time. For a Mauser 86SR owner using a Swarovski rail-equipped scope, this mount offers a clean and purpose-built way to join rifle and optic while preserving the practical strengths of the classic EAW Pivot Mount system.

About EAW

EAW traces its history to 1919, when Ernst Apel founded the company in Würzburg, Germany. In 1923, he acquired Elektro-Dental-Werke Frankfurt and changed the EDW brand to EAW, meaning Ernst Apel Würzburg. The company developed and produced its first riflescope mounts in 1945, and since 1951 mount development and production have been its primary focus.

Today, EAW is known for German-made mounting systems for hunting and sporting rifles, including pivot, slide-on and claw mounts, and it also offers thermal imaging cameras. Production moved from Würzburg to Gerbrunn in 1970, and Ernst Apel GmbH is now headquartered in Eibelstadt, Germany. Within the optics market, the company has a strong reputation for precise, rifle-specific mounting solutions built around repeatability, mechanical durability and long-term service use.
